Let’s be honest - this pub has struggled to identify itself for years. It has huge potential. The new proprietors are doing their absolute best to make this pub a success, and keep an important hub of the community running (before it gets purchased for flats no doubt!) The reviews are fair, but the one regarding drugs at a recent event is not unique to this pub. It is not right, but I’d imagine many pubs in the area have similar issues. My own experience of trying lunch for the first time was really good. A good, honest, homemade burger and £18 for burger and pint cannot be sniffed at. And for those with families and children - the outside space is superb. Please keep going with this pub and keeping the Widley community thriving.

Took my family for son's birthday here and everything was amazing. Staff are friendly and very accommodating, especially Tom. He was so lovely and polite and went above and beyond. Food was to die for! Hats off to the chef too. Superb experience. Will definitely be visiting again soon! Thanks all

Tentatively went with my mate for Friday lunch after bad experiences in the past (few years back). Got a great welcome when we arrived, help with gluten free choices, really well looked after throughout and food was really good. Really impressed and will be going back soon.

This is a local pub that does food. There is a restaurant section around the corner from the bar. Nicely laid out with tables and chairs but noisy due to bar proximity. Meals are ordered from the bar and paid for at time of order, and are delivered to your table. Apart from that there is no waitress service and further drinks have to be got yourself from the bar (so we were told though we did see another table getting drinks delivered to them - for some reason this didn't apply to us - I will leave you to make your own judgement about that!) No complaints about the food. Not cheap but not too expensive either. Fairly limited menu but it is what it is, a local district pub. Not somewhere you would go out of your way to visit, but perfectly acceptable for an occasional meal if...

Had bar snacks here a couple of weeks ago and was blown away by the outstanding flavour and presentation …. So decided tonight to grab my wife and try the mains on offer….. Had the tempura prawns and the Korean pork belly starters then proceeded to the slow cooked lamb for my wife and the 8oz sirloin ( med/rare) for myself ….. to say that the flavours were sublime is an understatement..!!!! The food is amazing and freshly done, piping hot and beautifully presented….. absolutely mouth watering !!! We were both so full we had to share a dessert…. And I can fully recommend the chocolate brownie with honeycomb and fudge ice cream !!!! Fantastic atmosphere and soft acoustic style music with attentive staff….. what more...
