I live fairly close to The Village Bakery Café. I pop in from time to time. I'm a big eater so the Purbrook Porker is perfect for me. We're not talking £3.99 Wetherspoon's conveyer belt stuff.... This is £6.95 worth of good quality well cooked and well presented food. You really get a lot for your money.
The staff are very polite and helpful and even though the café is frequented by builder types(of which I'm one) it is always very clean.
Mum's and toddlers and pensioners are also seen here regularly.
