Bones Wing & Burger Bar — Restaurant in Hertsmere

Decided to try this place since they have smashburgers and quite liked it, though not without faults.

I got the Burger and Strips Deal and for the quality of the food, I would say the price is worth it for a treat.

The chicken was delicious though the sauce was very salty, so not great if you’re eating alone, but good for sharing.

I’m not a fan of rosemary salt so I was happy that they followed the customisation options to not add that.

The burger itself was quite good, but I think for the amount of beef in it, it needs more sauce. I know smashburgers can get quite messy if they’re too sauced up, but I do think the triple needed it. Not sure if the same problem would apply for burgers with less patties.

I also ordered some hot honey, but it wasn’t anything special. I would try something else next time.

The biggest problem was the boxes they came in, unfortunately. They’re very waterproof from the inside, so it creates A LOT of condensation with the hot food which caused the chips to get soggy towards the end of the meal. The boxes also are strangely not very waterproof from the outside? The condensation from the drinks can messed up the chicken box.

I would still order from here at least one more time to try other things...

I can confidently say Bones is hands down the best chicken shop I’ve ever been to! From the moment I walked in, the customer service was impeccable. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made me feel right at home. They took the time to explain the menu and even made some excellent recommendations, which I’m so glad I followed.

Now let’s talk about the food. The Double Smash Burger? Absolutely phenomenal. The patties were cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The smash technique gave them that perfect crispy edge, which paired beautifully with the soft, toasted bun. Every bite was a flavor bomb, and the balance of toppings was spot on.

The Bacon Fries were the perfect sidekick to the burger. They were crispy, golden, and loaded with smoky, perfectly cooked bacon pieces. The portion size was generous, and the combination of salty, savory goodness was completely addictive. Honestly, I’d go back just for the fries!

The whole experience was flawless, from the food to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Bones doesn’t just serve food—they deliver an experience that makes you want to come back again and again. If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor and head there immediately. 5 stars...

Left a 2 star review on a food delivery app, as the food that was delivered was shocking. Company gives us a voucher for £15 to apologise. We ring up and say thank you. He’s blunt and rude on the phone. Then send us our food so bad we can’t eat it. The burger had been left on the grill and cooked that much it was just burnt crisp meat. Totally shocking! Like who do you think your are pal?? A word of advice before you spitefully taint someone’s food. Be sure you know who they are and what they do for a living as this is now all being boxed up and sent to the food standards agency as we believe you tainted with it that bad. Can tell this is a new business as you need to not take criticism to heart about your food and you especially should not be purposely messing peoples orders up when they give you a bad review…. Expect a very big awakening in the food industry! Totally shocking! Still can’t believe you did this. Expect a visit from the food...
