Reopened August 2018 following MAJOR refurbishment by new management, the new Strafford Arms is poles apart from its former self. A warm welcoming atmosphere with a sports bar for those that want it, and plenty of seating inside and out. Real ales, spirits wines beers & lagers including an almost bewildering selection of gins are on offer at not-eye-watering prices. Food too with a good menu of bar snacks, sandwiches, burgers, mains and deserts. Kids catered for. Ate here early Saturday evening with the family. The place was medium busy, but the staff were very attentive - while waiting for my drinks I was asked 3 times if I was being served! Timed my visit badly though as two of the 3 real ales were being changed. There was a reasonable wait for food, but the kind you can forgive because you know they are NOT just heating stuff up in a microwave! Can recommend the Strafford Burger and the Steak & Ale Pie. Delighted that such vibrant new life has been injected into what was a very tired, run-down boozer. We will definitely...

Diabolical service and terrible food. 1 star is too much.

Firstly we were sat in between the ladies toilet and the disabled toilets when there were many other tables available - it’s disgusting especially during a pandemic to be sat directly next to both toilet doors - so every-time someone went in and out we got a huge woof of toilet smells. If I get corona, I’m putting it down to this place, hardly any staff wearing masks and 0 social distancing in place between staff as they spent most of the time chatting rather than serving us. We waited 40 mins for our food to arrive, which isn’t the problem but when the steak is Luke warm and the fish is drenched in grease it doesn’t justify the waiting time. We also waited 15 mins to be served for drinks.

All in all terrible and would never return. It’s a shame because I was told this place was lovely and the food was good, clearly a lie.

Do yourself a favour and don’t go to this pub. They’re extremely laid back about taking...

Absolutely gorgeous pub with fantastic amenities and exceptionally friendly table service and staff...the food was beyond anything I'd expected, my 12year old son even commented that it was the best pizza he'd ever tasted!!

The only thing that ruined the experience somewhat was when an assistant manager (dark haired girl) 'had words with' another member of staff...in an outside area full of customers! Highly unprofessional behaviour and imo should never have happened in that manner. Behaviour like this undermines the otherwise quiet, relaxing ambience that The Strafford just oozes!

Would highly recommend and look forward to returning....given that the Assistant Manager in question is relayed some customer relations skills on what not to do in front of customers.

10/10 guys! A great modern friendly pub setting that's simply amazing 💯👌 keep up...

Really great, large pub located in Potters Bar. We came on Sunday for a roast on Easter with a large group and our dog. They have a great beer garden in the back which is lovely for a sunny day. My husband and I both got the vegetarian nut roast which my husband absolutely loved. Everything about this roast is great, and all the veg options you get is good. The Yorkshire pudding is also delicious! However, my nut roast had a large clump of spices that didn’t get mixed in properly and that’s unfortunately all I could taste and overpowered the whole dish. I think that it would have been really great had that not been a problem. Overall, a great pub with a lot of roast options and a pretty solid menu in total. Definitely worth a visit for a pint or a meal!

We reserved a table of 14 people, it was a lovely setting and nice staff members. Everyone's food came at different times unfortunately and with that some issues with the food, however I did acknowledge that it was busy and the management did try there best to resolve most issues. The place is accessible for wheelchair users and has disabled toilets, kids menu, and baby changing room in disabled toilets, Sunday roast, live Football, dogs allowed, has a lovely back garden area, smoking area, cooks, they take reservation bookings, Cash and card payments available, car parking area located in the front.

First visit to this newly refurbished pub and what can I say. Absolutely superb in every way. Beautiful refurb, friendly staff and customers. Extremely dog friendly and the biggest most beautiful pub garden I have ever seen. We didn't eat this visit but heard the food is great and reasonably priced so will eat next time. Will definitely be using more often! The photo is taken from the end of the garden this evening
