A great place to go for a quick bite or book in with the family and have a good time. I’ve done both and always been welcomed with a smile even after a Christmas rush, where not all the menu was available but the service was great and we were informed and still all found something good to eat. Good selection of drinks and if you’re out walking it’s perfect to stop in and dog friendly. Car park available and I would say wheel chair accessible.

I recently visited this amazing restaurant near the Peak District with a beautiful view. The location is perfect and quiet, making it an ideal spot to relax after a long hike. There's plenty of car parking, it’s dog friendly. The food is fantastic. I highly recommend trying the hamburgers and the local beer. You'll love it!

What a lovely old pub in a fabulous spot, the view from the terrace is fantastic. We visited for lunch and our food was excellent, the fish and chips were delicious, the best I've ever had, home cooked chips and lovely crispy batter. The service was great and the pub was comfortable and welcoming. Very enjoyable thank you.

Served 12pm - 7.30pm on Sundays £15 Roast Topside of Beef 28-day aged slow-roasted beef topside, accompanied by thyme & garlic roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, roast parsnip & carrot, mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding & rich gravy.

Eagerly anticipating a delicious meal before my train to London, I chose this dish.

With three of us dining together, one meal arrived after a lengthy 45 minutes. After waiting an hour, we decided to inquire about the status of the remaining meals. Another 5 minutes passed, and finally, my plate was served. Unfortunately, the cauliflower, sugar snap peas, and cabbage had been boiled to a bland mush, appearing grey and unappetizing. The carrots retained some firmness, but the parsnips were sadly missing. The roast potatoes featured a hard outer shell with a fluffy center, lacking the promised flavor of rosemary and garlic. The mashed potatoes felt like filler, while the beef, though tender and falling apart, was served cold. The only bright spot in the meal was the Yorkshire pudding accompanied by rich onion gravy.

After enjoying what I could, we approached the bar to share our disappointment. Although payment is made upon ordering, the staff member offered dessert or a drink as a gesture of compensation. At that point, though, we simply wished to depart. While an alternative was presented, it felt more like an expectation than a true apology for...

Well just to say it's been along time since I've had real ale as good as this in this hidden gem of a pub.ive been visiting this pub over the last few months and on my first visit I entered to find real ales which I will always try first as they are my favourite but obviously only if they are kept well,I first tried the Timothy Taylor landlord and wow I'm glad I did it was absolutely superb tasted great and you know when you've finished your pint and you have cream all the way down your glass that it's kept well,I've kept drinking this ale on my visits here upto last night as with it being the festive season I came upon an ale they have called brew dolph so I thought I'd chance my arm and give it a go wow it was as good as the Taylor in fine fettle so I would just like to say well done Dan you are looking after your ales really well and also to say your food is really good as well you have a really good pub here well run with great staff can't wait for my next visit over the Xmas period. We called in for tea at this pub . I ordered the steak and ale pie ( which I was told was steak and ale pudding ) with chips peas and gravy. It arrived with burnt wedges , the pudding looked nice till I cut into it - it was hard and the lid of the pudding was hard as if it was a pie. During the meal a staff member did ask if everything was ok and told them about the chips (as at this point I didn’t know about the pie ) she apologised and left , then did return said chef offered to cook some more chips (to which said no as was due to finish and leave) . My wife had the salmon and rice - she basically had a plate of rice and slice/square of salmon on top - which she did say was nice and soft . Don’t think I will be returning here...
