Acorns Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Hinckley and Bosworth

Wife asked for a sausage and bacon roll. I.e. A sausage with bacon in a roll... response was 'we don't do that' !! So you can't do bacon in a roll with a sausage I'm willing to pay extra??? "No we don't do that!!" Why on earth not!!??? Were then given the choice of having sausage in a roll, or bacon in a roll!! It apparently Wouldn't have been a problem to have both though!! Funnily, not long after a man went in and ordered a bacon roll and wanted an extra sausage for his dog, which was refused!! The man stuck to his guns and though steadfastly refused a sausage was graciously allowed a frankfurter for his dog!! How ridiculous is that????!!! I cannot think of any logical reason- answers on a post card..... Having said that the bacon roll I had was fine and my wife's ham, cheese and mushroom ciabatta was lovely- we did wonder 'what would have been the response to asking for a bacon with...

After ordering food and drink, we waited 30 mins for them to deliver our coffee order. When we asked twice they said it was on its way. People who had been served after us were now finished and leaving. When I asked for the 3rd time they laughed and said it was on its way. No apology, no explanation. The staff were impolite and were nit even phased by this as far as they were concerned we’d spent £60 to be treated in this manner. I will not be returning.

If you walk round the common or use the children’s area, I recommend you save your money and take your own or pick up a M just down the road or even pop into Asda cafe for a takeaway coffee.

Wow! Great welcome, for us and the dog, lovely staff, nice facilities and great food. It had been a while since we had been to Burbage Common and used to have a coffee in the cafe but not much else. We walked the dogs and called in for a spot of brunch not expecting much more than an old style cafe. What a lovely place it has become. The place was cosy and welcoming. We were given a towel for our wet dog which she then lay on while we eat. The full English breakfast was plentiful, well presented and cooked beautifully. Coffee was also top notch. We will be back and will make sure it becomes a more regular part of our walking...
