Went here for Sunday dinner as a family gathering and it was absolutely appalling. Sat at the table for 20 minutes before we finally asked to be provided with menus so we could actually order food. There was no chicken option on the menu, only beef lamb and pork. Also if you're veggie then your options are battered halloumi, chips and mushy peas or nothing! A few of us having lamb ordered Yorkshire puddings as extras and when the food was due to arrive we were told that they didn't have enough Yorkshires other than to cover any beef meals for the afternoon, which we weren't happy about but fine...only for one of the staff to bring some out when we had almost finished the meal saying that actually there were some. When we said we didn't want them now her reaction was less than professional. My partners pork was tough as shoe leather and he didn't touch it, and I can confirm the pork was so awful I wouldnt even feed it to my dogs, due to the fact that despite ordering lamb there was a big chunk of pork in with my meat....considering a lot of people won't eat meat for rather important personal reasons this was absolutely TERRIBLE. And to top it off the staff were clearly complaining amongst themselves about us. I would normally feel quite embarrassed for complaining about food somewhere but I'm...

Visited for a slightly delayed Mothers Day with my Mum for a midweek lunch. Having undergone a recent external renovation from the outside this looks like it should be a good place to visit. Inside it has changed little in well over 10 years.||Had a set menu lunch each which was quite inexpensive so did not expect too much but even at the low price it was very poor.||Prawn cocktail - a few defrosted prawns on a plate with a little torn lettuce a slice of cucumber and a thing sliver of tomato outer flesh topped off with clearly shop bought seafood sauce - definitely not Marie-rose. Served with a tiny triangle of brown bread - pathetic!||Broccoli soup - Mum reported quite good||Chicken with white wine sauce plus some veg - not very appetising||battered fish - half a normal size fillet, obviously straight from the freezer to the fryer, some of the worse chips I have ever had and peas.||Dessert - came out of a box for sure, maybe Mr Kipling or similar||||Never again even...

My friend and I visited after being tempted by the menu for weeks and we had a wonderful experience. The menu was varied but not too overwhelming as sometimes restaurants can have too many choices! We loved the wide selection of burgers, pizzas, loaded fries and small plates too. I ordered ‘The New Yorker’ burger and my friend ordered ‘The Fajita’ burger. The burgers arrived and we were absolutely delighted with the portion size, presentation and selection of food. Admiring the skin-on fries and crispy onion rings, we dug in and adored the flavours of the burgers. They were second to none. I felt that I could taste the quality of the food, which was a real positive. Importantly, the service was also brilliant. Michael was lovely, welcoming and attentive. After we ate, we chatted for a while and enjoyed the atmosphere of the pub! Overall, we had a really positive experience and we will 100% return! Thank you all!

Always a good bet for sensational food, I'd not breakfasted here before and it didn't disappoint, superb presentation, excellent service and good value, not only is the food second to non in this sector but it's a lovely place to visit, as I'm local (3 miles away) I've never stayed overnight, so I cannot vouch for the hotel side of things, however, if they do things half as well as the restaurant it will be excellent!
