Update: Food tasted ok but service still very slow & tables not cleared. Note: No salad given anymore with toasties.We saw one old lady with a walking stick waiting at the till for ages even though she had been seen twice by staff.Maybe staff numbers need reviewing? Also you have to put your table Number into the auto service before paying & by the time we got to the table someone else had sat there. Another customer had the same problem .Further update very slow service lack of staff 45 min wait tables not cleaned. Returned again this week & its worse than ever, tea & coffee machine broken again so no hot drinks, very few staff, slow service, and tables & floor were still dirty. The food although reasonably priced didn't look appetising with the chips partially burnt, and the toasties looked as if they had been run over by a bulldozer. She did offer to make some more chips , but we didn't have time due to the long wait. Also there was no salt to be found anywhere!!! Many others we spoke too were also complaining or walked out.
Visited again today ... No got drinks yet again! or hot food for a while due to problems .This place has become abysmal !! Read moreI went into Morrisons Wisbech cafe for breakfast, and was shocked at what I saw, it is filthy, tables sticky, chairs drink spilt and left, coffee machine's filthy, cutlery filthy stained with food, fridges food within again filthy, then the general hygiene, thick dust and cobwebs, dirt and stains on the floor, everywhere you looked, and to be honest I didn't really look just couldn't help seeing it. You serve food to the paying public, you should be ashamed, and let me say, this is not a staff issue, but very bad management, you have a duty of care not only to the public but your staff. I would be bringing the cafe manager up on a disciplinary for the state of that place. I cannot be the first person to notice this, so that suggests you don't take these complaints seriously. I worked in the hotel catering management and the food industry as QA and Technical manager, as such I'm surprised you get through any audits, in fact I would love to see the results of your internal audits for that area. On the plus side the breakfast wasn't bad and the staff were very helpful and polite, to be commented under the conditions they have to work. Read moreWent in there today to grab a couple of things and to use the facilities. Was absolutely shocked at how "ghetto" the ladies toilets were - absolutely no way of drying your hands (no hand towels to be seen anywhere and complete absence of hot air dryer). Two members of staff in there, discussing in another language that instead of a door handle on the entrance/exit there appeared to just be two cable ties knotted together - what would it have taken for someone to nip NEXT DOOR to B&Q to get a new handle? I know most places have no petty cash these days but surely a Manager could have paid and claimed the money back? Anyway, the two members of staff that were in there didn't seem concerned about the lack of hand drying facilities, even though we've just come out of a pandemic, so I dried my hands on my shirt and left.
