Bubble & Squeak — Restaurant in Kirklees

New review: Went back two times and the gentleman was too busy on the Friday so could not serve. The next time had no food left, so I have to leave this feedback. I’m aware he’s been there 20 years and the food is excellent, but at the end of the day, for me to want to go there and take my wife for a snack, only to get let down like that, is something I don’t want to move forward with. I’m really sad to say this.

As someone who values good, quality food and enjoys supporting local businesses, this was a major letdown. It’s even more frustrating when the door is left open, giving the impression that customers are welcome, only to be told otherwise.

I understand they may have regular customers, but as someone local who was hoping to become a regular, this experience has left a sour taste. It’s unfortunate because I really thought this place was a hidden gem, but it seems that’s no longer the case for me.

I stumbled upon this place by chance, and I’m so glad I did. The quality of the ingredients is outstanding, and the food is simply top-notch. I had the Chicken Club on my first visit and came back for the Italian meat selection – both were incredible. The one guy who’s been there for 19 years really knows his craft. His dedication shows in the perfect execution of these dishes. No complaints, just fantastic...

Whenever I'm travelling up to Yorkshire I always make the detour off the M1 to visit here.

A skirt around the edge of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, down through the rolling hills around Clayton West its a great little detour.

The sandwich choice is great and the homemade brownies are some of the best I have ever tried.

Find a parking space and enjoy one of the best sandwiches you'll ever have. It doesn't look much from outside but its great, if google did 6 Stars I'd give...

First time going here and I’ll definitely be coming again. We got the fresh pasta with chicken and bacon, and the American shrimp salad. Both were amazing, portion sizes were really good and it wasn’t expensive....
