Cakey’s — Restaurant in Kirklees

So happy to have found this lovely eatery. Driven past it many times without even realising it was there. Free parking is available on the road.

Our food was really fresh and tasty with the portion sizes being just right for a light lunch.

There was a great selection of cakes and having tried a bit of my husbands coffee & walnut cake I can confirm that they are delicious!

An afternoon tea is available and this will be our next thing to try. It does need to be booked in advance though.

Only had a drink here. It felt a bit cold on the day we went. We chose a table near the electric heater but the owner wanted us to move to a different table 'just in case' a bigger group came in! Didn't feel very welcome and everyone staring at us. Not the best place for a private conversation either. Probably won't go back...

The first time I went it was good but the time after that the lady that worked there was a standoffish and my kids went there with her friends a couple of months ago and she was the same and if everybody was thinking that they were young they are 25 and one was 26 and there friends are around the same age.
