Waitress took all our orders at exact same time one side of table got their order, 20 MINUTES LATER OTHER SIDE OF TABLE GOT ORDER
WAITRESS FORGET TO GIVE KITCHEN HER FULL MEAL ORDER SO ANOTHER 10 WAIT ON TOP OF THAT FOR THE MISSING MEAL
ALL CHIPS CAME COLD AS WELL
After we'd finished meal 70% of plates were cleared by waitress 20 minutes later she came back for remaining 30% of plates even though all plates were empty when she took the 1st 70% of plates away
Deserts same again took all our tables orders one side of table got theirs 15 minutes later other side of table got their orders.
Now in a venue that's about 40% full all night why was there this prolonged 20 minutes delay when the exact same waitress took all orders at exact same time yet it played out like we were sat at complete opposite ends of pub who came in 20 minutes apart.
But we wasn't we were all sat at one table placed all orders at exact same time yet this 20 minutes delay ran throughout the entire night even though we were one party sat all at one table
Absolutely no excuse for this poor lack of service
BIGGEST MYSTERY WHY DIDN'T WAITRESS INFORM KITCHEN STAFF WE WAS ALL ONE TABLE AND ALL ONE PARTY.
BUT NO KITCHEN GAVE MEALS OUT LIKE WE WERE TO SEPARATE ORDERS OPPOSITE END OF PUB TO EACH OTHER
WHY DIDN'T WAITRESS STATE TO KITCHEN STAFF WE WERE ALL TOGETHER AND ALL MEALS COME TOGETHER AS THEY DO IN ANY OTHER ESTABLISHMENT AROUND THE WORLD THERE IS JUST COMPLETELY NO EXCUSE FOR THIS DISJOINTED SERVICE
Message to deputy manager I've looked at other customers experiences after posting mine and even going back 10 MONTHS you were delivering customer orders with MASSIVE TIME DELAYS
SO PLEASE DON'T WASTE MY TIME BY SAYING WERE SORRY ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE AND WE'LL PASS IT ON TO STAFF.
BECAUSE GUESS WHAT ITS OCTOBER 2019 AND YOUR STILL DELIVERING THE EXACT POOR SERVICE YOU WERE DELIVERING TO CUSTOMERS BACK IN JANUARY 2019
SO EITHER YOUR NOT PASSING IT ON TO STAFF. OR YOU ARE AND STAFF AREN'T TAKING A BLIND BIT OF NOTICE OF ANYTHING YOUR SAYING TO THEM
Because 10 months of pretty much exact same complaint something is going wrong at this establishment because absolutely nothing has changed throughout 2019 so their is something very wrong in your system if 10 months later customers are receiving exact same time delays across table.
Whatever it is in your system that's failing over 10 months of exact same complaint it's no closer to been solved now than it was back in January 2019
It's a shame because building looks great from outside loads of space inside shambles pretty much everything else.
If outside matched inside I'd easily have given this place 5* review but...
Read moreWould have given 4* but will explain why later. We have been here a few times over the years and this time visited here for an anniversary treat from my son. This is a lovely pub really on the whole. It's on a main road, in a rural location. Once inside you wouldn't notice the road. It has a lovely beer garden with outdoor play area secluded across a small river bridge to the rear of it. The garden looks out over open fields, normally with sheep 🐑 in during warmer weather. The food at the restaurant pub has been revamped recently and to the better, although some strange flavours and combinations do appear on your plate. I loved the baked potato skins for starters but they need to address the sour cream issue as was too runny and should be like clotted cream and when ordering lamb which came in a dish rather than a plate, which is what I would have preferred. I had mash peas and gravy, but putting pickled red cabbage in with it too, what's that about?? when the menu say just red cabbage, it's wrong. It tastes awful and doesn't go with the food or mint sauce either. When I complained, I was told it was the supplier. Well in that case who ever orders ingredients needs to change it and the cabbage, they're off putting. However everything else was pleasantly presented and cooked well. And if you like your puddings and CUSTARD then you cannot go wrong. We had 'Sticky Richard', a cross between English 'spotted dick' (yes short for Richard lol 😁, a sultana suet pud) and a sticky toffee pudding. It was gorgeous! Just don't put it on a plate Fayre and Square! Not sure if I like the new tv's on the walls either, as our table was directly underneath one and felt a little overlooked. This restaurant can get very busy at times, so it might be wise to book in advance. A nice restaurant over all, just some annoying little niggles that...
Read moreFlame grill, more like lame grill. Flat beer and bad steak! I've been coming to this restaurant for years with my family over many occasions and through plenty of changes including new management. Its not a 5 star restauraunt, but it normall does the job in its own way, but not today. Today was one of the worst meals we've had and it was Mothers Day. We believe it was the chef's fault more than anything but one can only assume. It started with a bad taste when the Guinness was flat and all the drinks was served from cans into half empty pint glasses. It worsened when we came inside and the booking was not there. It was all very awkward and made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. However, we were eventually seated and were grateful even though this shouldn't have happened. All of the fried food/ heated process food that was ordered came out fine. However every single steak came completely wrong including side dishes. One of the rare steaks came well done - Not good. The table next to us also had wrong steaks and we also overheard people outside complaining. The waiter apologised and said we'd have to wait another 10 minutes (pretty sure it takes 2 mins for a rare steak, but whatever) but a long 25 minutes later, everybody had eaten. Restless kids became more restless and the steaks still came back wrong as they were mixed with the wrong orders. Moral of the story is, dont come for Guinness, fresh food or excellent service, instead expect heated process food (which was nice), flat drinks and basic service. Oh and don't bother book a table, there's no one to greet you and they probably haven't...
