Honestly.. I'm unable to find a fault as of yet. I've been here 3 times, twice for food. From what I've had I can tell you the food is great, good portions and fresh. No frozen veg or anything like that. They've got a decent drinks selection with some regular pub beer and lager as well as an Inchs on tap and some bottles of cider. Spirits are relatively extensive and they have good quality too. You can usually tell a decent place if they don't just serve cheap brandy. They've got courvoisier which bodes well.
My partner has had the normal range of food, whereas I, who is unfortunately unable to eat anything with gluten... Has found an incredibly extensive menu here. The gluten free range is very impressive and fresh. Most places I would go tend to have ready made frozen items of gluten free things for people when they turn up... The Scape, to my knowledge and taste, makes all the food fresh including the gluten free range. I would highly recommend the gluten free beer battered fish and chips. Would definitely recommend a visit, especially if you struggle with gluten as I do. The staff are very easy going and helpful with everything. Fantastic service and fantastic food. Id reserve so you're not disappointed, but walks in are fine. Beautiful views and walks around the area. I won't just be going back. I'll...
ย ย ย Read moreLovely pub with really nice interior. Feels very welcoming and the staff were quick to get us seated. We pre booked but was unaware we'd be bringing our baby in her pram and they offered us the choice to pick where we sat that would be best suited for us and the pram. Food was gorgeous, I had the brie wedge for starters and the scan house buttermilk chicken burger. The brie wedge was honestly unreal how good it was and so was the burger. Apart from the chicken itself, towards the centre if the burger it was quite tough but was still very enjoyable. Prices was fair for what you get and the staff was just amazing. The 2 ladies that served us was very friendly and loved have a chat about our baby and exchanging stories about themselves and their experience with parenthood. Only other downside was no drinks menu BUT the ladies reeled off what they had at the bar when we asked. All in all, great pub and grub, great staff and the view from the long wi Dow where we sat of the valley ahead was just beautiful. Definitely...
ย ย ย Read moreAfter reading great reviews we came here for a birthday meal. Firstly we were unfortunately sat next to the door leading to the toilets, which smelt like constant piss wafting past. Oh the food ๐ข I had Sunday roast no option of chicken, just beef or pork. I settled with the beef, I wish I hadn't, it was so tough and full of gristle I couldn't eat it. The potatoes tasted like cheap frozen ones that were hot but really hard in the middle, my mum's potato was so big it was raw in the middle, not sure what happened to the Yorkshire puddings it was chewy and it had such a strange taste to it that I couldn't eat it. ยฃ18 per meal and I only ate the vegetables. Extremely disappointed and definitely won't be coming again. Oh and you might want to look at the coke dispenser as everyone's were completely flat. On a better note the apple crumble was lovely I just wish the rest was. We did think it was strange though how no one asked us how the meal was, maybe they...
