If you are ever on the M62 near the Brighouse exit and you want a meal that you will want to write about, take the exit, follow signes for Dewsbury and as you are near Mirfield, you will see the Pear Tree on you right. If you are a lover of Thai food make sure before you go that the owner is there as she is from Thailand. The Halloumi fish and chips is AMAZING but, there is enough for two people. Massive portion but they will box the leftovers for you to take home. The Thai meals are as good as in in Leeds City Centre. I was so disappointed the last time I was in West Yorkshire as the Restaurant was not open due to Covid. It’s fantastic, not much more I can say!

Just been here for the first time an I’ll definitely be going back there! It’s a lovely cosy pub with a great terrace on the side of the canal. An it’s got a great lil restaurant serving home cooked meals that are really tasty The staff are very friendly and welcoming. An the place is very clean The menu has loads to choose from and im sure there’s something for every taste. There was a few of us so we tried a large portion of the menu an it was all good An at a very reasonable price There’s also a great selection of drinks An that terrace will be bob on in the summer

A traditional pub on the outskirts of Mirfield next to the river. A busy place when we visited Friday afternoon, but there was a big football match on the TV. We ate in thd separate dining room and had fish and chips which was one of the best I've had. A large fish, tasty well cooked chips and mushy or garden peas. Well worth £13 50. Friendly, helpful staff, quick service. I'd definitely go again next time I'm passing.

This pub didnt look much from the outside, but we didnt know the area and just needed some food. It had some good reviews and looked to have a nice beer garden at the back so we thought we would try it.

We sat inside and it wasnt great. It took a while for anyone to take our order, and we had to go and find menus and drinks at the bar ourselves, despite other tables having table service. We were seated in the small dining room at the back, which desperately needs an update! Non of the decor goes together, its all very ugly and shabby. I think it was lilac glitter wallpaper, a bad paint job, and then some old pub style stuff. Just a mess really.

So we finally managed to put our food order in, while realising we had made a mistake and hoping that the food would at least be the saving grace, but it wasn't. The chips were the only part I could really eat. The marinade on the chicken gyro wasn't good at all, and really more of an asian style, definatly didnt go with the taziki. The kids meals weren't great and neither was my partners chicken sandwich. I really think this pub would benefit from a re vamp and them actually...

Wonder if we just picked the wrong night but seemed very amateurish. Two people had burgers, both asked for fries. One came with fries one with chips. We needed some sauces everyone disappeared when the last plate went down, a member of the party went to the bar area to ask someone they said they would help. Didn't ask what we wanted walked straight past table and into kitchen, so had to ask someone else. Dessert menu had half the things rubbed off so only choice of three. We had a cheesecake that was tiny to the degree it was smaller than the ice cream it came with. Kids meal came with ice-cream and that was larger than the cheesecake and ice cream. One person ordered meringue, the waitress came back to ask what they wanted with it 30 seconds later came back with it and just placed it half way down the table where no one was sitting. Two people had liquor coffee and no exaggeration that hald the glass was coffee...

I chose from the weekly specials menu, so my choices may not be available now. Having said I'm sure the quality will be the same. I chose courgette fritters which came with saffron aoli and a small side salad, they were very fresh and tasty, I'd definitely have that again. For mains I chose Halloumi fajitas, the halloumi and vegetables came on a sizzling platter, the wraps had been lightly toasted and were on a plate with side salad and fries. The fries weren't really needed as they added nothing to the dish which was very good. My wife only wanted a main and chose a fish butty in a granary roll with rustic chips which she really enjoyed. As well as the good food they usually have a decent range of real ales, beers,...
