The Royal Oak Inn — Restaurant in Kirklees

This place was simply amazing. We were on a stag doo (sat 7 Sep 24) and had been axe throwing close by, walking down to catch a bus we discovered this little gem. 11 of us walked through the door and the bar staff could not have been more helpful. She welcomed us and proceeded to serve us. There is 1 thing people should know it is a card free pub, so cash only. I like this, however only a few of us had cash, so our stay was curtailed. If you are ever in the area and fancy a beer pop in I highly recommend it.

Hands down one of the best pubs I've been to. You feel right at home as soon as you walk through the door of this shining beacon in the community of Linthwaite. There is no sense of being an outsider stepping into somewhere hostile or unwelcoming at all. The staff are incredibly friendly and take the time to get to know you and get you as comfortable as possible, as you enjoy the live music, food and great choice of beer. Great friendly pub. Staff and the owners also very friendly. Good selection of beers and lagers. Tastefully decorated as you'd expect from a local village pub.
