If I could give this place a zero I would. Wow has it gone down hill. I rang to book a table... got there and they had no record of my booking so they sat us in the bar area. We ordered food. 40 minutes later someone came to tell us that something I'd ordered was no longer available. 40 minutes it took for them to realise that.

An hour and 10 minutes had passed since our arrival and the restaurant had cleared a lot so I asked if we could move for more comfort, I was told yes. Eventually the meals arrived. In total we had waited an hour and a half, with no apology or explanation. 2 meals came out. 10 minutes later the other 2 arrived. Mine was absolutely inedible. It was supposed to be a roast lamb dinner with new potatoes, roast potatoes and veg. The veg was covered in a ragu/tomato/herb sauce.... not what you want with roast lamb... I sent those back. There was no sign of any new potatoes. The 3 frozen roast potatoes were solid as a rock. The Yorkshire pudding would make any Yorkshire person ashamed... flat as a pancake and hard all the way through. And the lamb was actually pork.

I sent it all back and told them not to bother. The young waitress sent an older waitress over who apologised and told me I wouldn't be charged!!!! Charged for what??? The waiting time??? Almost breaking my teeth??? My partners meal was a burger. It looked amazing. It was cold and greasy. My friends had ordered the corned beef pie which he said was dry and my other friend had a lamb Yorkshire pudding wrap which was also cold and chewy like it had been microwaved. Until I hear this place has changed hands again or got new kitchen staff I will not step foot there. The service was unorganised and the food you wouldn't give it to a dog. Such a shame, this used to be one of our favourite...

DEAD FLIES IN FOOD! Been many a time and never been completely satisfied however my latest visit was beyond disappointing. In my opinion the whole place needs restaffing with people with professionalism, good customer service and kitchen staff which obey basic hygiene regulations. It wasn’t until after ordering food we found out the only piece of cutlery available were spoons. The only condiments available were salad cream, brown sauce, Tatar sauce and pepper. After requesting if there were anything else we were told they’re all kept there. We later returned to the bar to request again as having had the chips multiple times previously, they need condiments. We were eventually given a bottle of vinegar and pot of salt (rather than sachets) which we were glad for. The food eventually came and the salad in the sandwich was riddled with dead flies. A refund for the food was given which was appreciated, however, had it have been my establishment, I would have offered some form of incentive to return, whether in form of a free drink or meal. Safe to say we won’t be returning after every time we have been, there’s something negative I could say about the experience and/or staff. Unfortunate as the...

Not a very nice experience stopped off here a wet Sunday evening , beef tough as old boots , onion rings tasted like they had been fried in the same as fish. Asked for more gravy ten minutes still no gravy yet staff stood around chatting by the time I asked for the gravy again the food was cold , did complain about the fishy onion rings practically whole plates of food were left , waste of time , waste of money , decor is very dated and old fashioned. If driving I'd give it a miss and drive elsewhere also wasn't made to feel very welcome nor did my children hostile atmosphere , my daughter ws ignored at the bar and people coming in I'm assuming we're locals the way they were greeted and served first. Prices for this run down place serving the standard of food is very over priced ,also after mentioning the fishy onion rings no apology offered just a shrug of the shoulders from the girl collecting the plates, didn't want to even...

Could do better! Food was average at best. This pub charges a lot but the quality of the food is akin to that of a budget chain pub. £5.95 for a kids meal. £3.95 for a kids pudding (one scoop of ice cream). Sausage was far too herby for a child. Meal suitable for a 6 to 9 year old, 1 to 5 year old would struggle with the portion size. Lazy, skin on chips, fried in (dirty?) oil, had a soggy texture and didn't taste good. They provided a vat of mayonnaise which is good. But it was cheap mayo, why not just hand out some quality sachets? Terrible decor, a mix of old fashioned and tacky modern. Only reason I give two stars is because the pudding, which was reasonable, but probably bought in. Overall, a not very enjoyable experience, left feeling like I had wasted my money.

Met some friends here for NYE and besides 3 other people we were the only patrons. I can’t judge the pub on any real merit as it was dark, torrential rain and gailforce winds. My car went under 3 feet of water just down the lane from the pub as it was so wet and cold I didn’t realise I was driving into a flood. Water was pouring into their carpark too, which was concerning! However, despite the lack of customers on NYE they still had a DJ playing music and Karaoke and still had a countdown, which I appreciated!

Quite a basic Sunday roast. Boiled vegetables, not a decent portion of meat (almost more stuffing than there was meat), overdone Yorkshire pudding. Boiled new potatoes lacked anything in terms of seasoning. Roast potatoes were not terrible but nothing good either. Had tried to show someone visiting a good traditional Sunday roast but just left feeling like no effort was put into making the food taste of anything, just feel it gave a poor example of a good Sunday roast to the visitor. Won't go again.
