Love the venue and have eaten here before and loved it so this is purely based on group menu. If you order off the normal menu you would not be disappointed. The staff are very friendly and polite but not as attentive as they have been previously as we kept having to ask for drinks orders. The room we were given was excellent with a roaring fire and doors to open if you got too hot. The table were set out in an n shape so you had your back to people. Arranging them in a square so we could sit around and talk to everyone would have been much better. As I understand it the chef was off so everything was prepped earlier. Starter was a few cocktail sausages, bread and olives. We had a buffet of two warmed up dishes that were edible but average tbh. Chicken and cream mushrooms with rice and a duck hot pot! Everyone seemed to enjoy the puddings. I expected more from a £40 per head menu not including drinks so was a little disappointed...

The table was decorated in a lovely manner with apples, conkers, leaves, acorns and candles. |The menu had been provided by Nicola and the extremely talented chef, Craig. The food was beautifully presented and really special. A wide selection of dishes from which to choose. I had the smoked salmon then the sea bass, then chocolate delice for dessert. It was one of the best meals I have had and this was reflected around the table. |We would highly recommend and...

There is a good wine list and a well stocked bar.||I ordered a black pudding scotch egg which was delicious followed by sea bass which was beautifully cooked. The two courses were good size portions - and left little room for a dessert!||The staff were good and looked after us well with prompt service.||The building is stylishly decorated with a lovely atmosphere.||Why only a 4 star? The food was good and well cooked but I felt was on the expensive side - with starters averaging £15 and mains averaging £30 - compared to other very similar places - it...
