Love the venue and have eaten here before and loved it so this is purely based on group menu. If you order off the normal menu you would not be disappointed. The staff are very friendly and polite but not as attentive as they have been previously as we kept having to ask for drinks orders. The room we were given was excellent with a roaring fire and doors to open if you got too hot. The table were set out in an n shape so you had your back to people. Arranging them in a square so we could sit around and talk to everyone would have been much better. As I understand it the chef was off so everything was prepped earlier. Starter was a few cocktail sausages, bread and olives. We had a buffet of two warmed up dishes that were edible but average tbh. Chicken and cream mushrooms with rice and a duck hot pot! Everyone seemed to enjoy the puddings. I expected more from a £40 per head menu not including drinks so was a little disappointed...

We were a party of fourteen with ages ranging from 2 to 83 for my parents Diamond Wedding Anniversary. We had completed pre orders and following reception drinks at the bar, we were based in The Hayloft which is a private dining room at the Inn. This had a small outside area which was perfect for the three children to take some playtime between courses. The table was decorated in a lovely manner with apples, conkers, leaves, acorns and candles. |The menu had been provided by Nicola and the extremely talented chef, Craig. The food was beautifully presented and really special. A wide selection of dishes from which to choose. I had the smoked salmon then the sea bass, then chocolate delice for dessert. It was one of the best meals I have had and this was reflected around the table. |We would highly recommend and...

Enjoyed dinner at this rather lovely Inn.||There is a small private dining room or a number of tables in a bar area.||The menu was not extensive but has enough options to tempt any palate. There is a good wine list and a well stocked bar.||I ordered a black pudding scotch egg which was delicious followed by sea bass which was beautifully cooked. The two courses were good size portions - and left little room for a dessert!||The staff were good and looked after us well with prompt service.||The building is stylishly decorated with a lovely atmosphere.||Why only a 4 star? The food was good and well cooked but I felt was on the expensive side - with starters averaging £15 and mains averaging £30 - compared to other very similar places - it...

Went for Sunday Roast Dinner absolutely delicious. The beef melted in the mouth The mash was fantastic full of flavour Roast Potato cooked well and of a good size. Five different vegetables all cooked to perfection. Every one knows a Sunday Roast needs a good gravy and again it was lovely.A good size plate full of food. Desert was a delicate light sponge The place itself was cosy with enjoyable back ground music. The staff were lovely and attentive. Definitely going back for a second visit.

Just had the Sunday evening set menu (Sunday lunch). Not something that would normally float my boat but I have to admit the beef (and they mean pink but NOT bloody) was tasty and nicely done. Large roasted potato cooked to perfection (hint of duck fat?) and crisp Yorkshire pudding (perhaps slightly overdone). Sharon had the cod with creamed leak sauce "delicious". Outside are looks nice (see photo) but would need a warm day!

Stayed at the Lancaster Barn and ate here two nights running. The team at the Bay Horse are wonderful, so accommodating and professional. The menu has been thoughtfully planned and is executed brilliantly, it's absolutely the style of food we love eating. It's the third time we've eaten here on visits and we will definitely be back! If you're in the area we'd highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.
