Broadway Leeds — Restaurant in Leeds

The website states 11am opening as it did months ago when I last went, it's 12 noon. I'd arranged to meet friends at 11.45 so they were stood outside as my taxi arrived - they too had come by taxi... Food ordered at 12.15 2x fish & chips, very small fish & too much batter, I've goldfish that are only a little smaller & I'm not being sarcastic. 2 burgers were also ordered, I was told these were ok but they'd had better. I was told by the lovely polite barmaid there would be a wait of about 20 minutes this we understood as the chef only arrived about 11.50.... Food arrived shortly after 1pm ??? we were hungry & had had a couple of glasses of wine while we waited. The staff were lucky as we had a lot to catch up on & didn't notice at first how long we'd waited. At this point we decided to leave to spend our money elsewhere & I was a little annoyed so didn't speak to the staff while I was there as I couldn't have been polite. The barmaid deserves 5 * as I suspect she thought the chef should have been earlier to work & better prepared as he took so long. Not sure who owns or manages The Broadway now, if it's a chain or other but the website needs updating & some of the staff need to be ready ahead of...

Had a good night staff lovely, great atmosphere 1 of the security men were friendly and nice. However the whole night was spoilt by the second security guy. While we were waiting for our taxi the 1st security man told us to wait inside as it was cold and he would let us know when it came. When we went back inside the second security guy came up and asked my 25 year old grandson for I'd. Strange as we had been in there for 6 hours and the bar was closed by then. His attitude was really bad cocky and obviously wanting to cause trouble. What was really bad was that he wasn't interested in asking my granddaughter for I'd she is 19 but looks 15. It was obvious that he wanted to pick a fight with my grandson. It's a shame that our night was spoiled by this power struck security guy. The thing is you don't ask for I'd at the end of the night because if he hadn't have been over 18 the law has already been broken. When are these power struck individuals gonna stop trying to provoke young men just for the fun of it. Get some decent staff cos I'm sure this isn't the first time he has tried to provoke a fight with...

Travelled over from Bristol to see some friends and came to Broadway with them for a meal. It was lovely and id definitely eat there again however some of the chairs had holes in them and the chef really needs keep an eye on the food stock as there was a lot of things on the menu that they didn't have available due to stock and this wasn't the first time as my friends took their parents out to Broadway and due to the fact that there was nothing available the chef cooked a lasagne which was not even on the menu. Besides those little glitches I shall look forward to returning hoping that the food stock issue is resolved as this can be a fantastic...
