Visited today with my mother in law and Daughter. Firstly walked in and and sat down. No acknowledgement that we had entered. Went on the hunt for menus which wasn't a problem, the lady apologised for not bringing them over as they were short staffed and a bit busy - understandable. Ordered our food and the food is very good, my meal didn't come with chips despite it saying it on the menu, when asked the lady she did apologise and she said it was her fault they didn't come, again apology accepted. My mother in law went to the counter and asked for some mayonnaise with her meal (again the menu said hers came with garlic mayo but didn't come). When asked another lady serving was quite snappy and said 'just give me a minute ' and continued to do something else behind the counter. After 5 minutes whilst our food was getting cold and my MIL went back up again to ask for some mayonnaise and it was finally brought over but with no apology or acknowledgement. In conclusion I really think the service let the side down today as the food was really nice, fresh and hot. Also purchased some deli food to take away which was equally as nice. Maybe if the staff are struggling with demand it could be worth having more staff on at busy lunchtimes. Read moreCan’t fault the cakes we had. Spot on in every way. Service however was disappointing. Second time since the new re-brand that we’ve been both times slow service, but not busy at all, staff all stood in kitchen chatting. The first time we had to get takeaway cups because we were waiting so long, and when we did go up, same women from today said “I was coming to you” in a rude tone.
Today we tried it again. Waited about 15 minutes to be served, which would be understandable, if they’d have been rushed off their feet, but all kitchen staff were chatting in plain site. And only 4 tables were occupied.
Ordered a tea with soya milk, which curdled. Explained to staff, who came back with “it’s in date” but didn’t offer any sort of apology or replacement. I had to ask for a coffee instead, which she rudely took the drink away, no apology and was slamming things around behind the counter, which we noticed and heard. I was extremely polite, but felt I’d annoyed the women because I didn’t want to drink the curdled milk.
Hats off to the baker, and chefs the foods spot on, but think front of house staff could really do with some extra training. Lady had short grey hair and glasses, has been there some time, so maybe she’d fed up. But definitely wasn’t impressed with how we...
Read moreFancied going somewhere different to my local area, but didn't want to drive in to Leeds due to marathon road closure.
After searching on Google and Facebook stalking we decided to pop over to Samuel Valentine.
We sat outside on a lovely sunny day and was greeted by very friendly waitress with a great smile.
Food came out quickly and tested very good!!! Me and my partner both shared and said our choices was spot on.
Looking forward to visiting again as they have a different menu on a weekday compared to the all day breakfast menu on a Sunday
Thank you for the great...
