Although I’m from Dewsbury in West Yorkshire When I visit down south, I’m used to regularly going to the orignal spice hut in Mile End,
I heard about a branch opening in Chapel town area of Leeds a month ago, a few of us food enthusiasts decided to pay a visit, from my observations, I’d say this restaurant had a lot more space and felt very commercial with graphic wraps on walls etc as apposed to the more preferred traditional local food joint setup which i was more accustomed to and I associated with the orignal spice hut branch down in Mile End.
As I spoke to some of the staff members I found them to be very friendly and welcoming, they recommended a few items on the menu and offered me to try their ultimate Naga King wings which they said was very popular, I found them to be very succulent and extremely spicy a very Appealing Original flavour ,
I was pleasantly surprised By the flavour and quality off the the food on offer. For spicy food lovers everywhere, spice hut is definitely one to be recommend. Incredible Doner Kebab and Wing meal combos with a great spice range.
the Shatkora flavored Doner Kebab, amazing in flavour. Although us northerners are more used to travelling out for food I’d say this branch of spice hut is more local and accessible to the people around the neighbouring cities and towns and the food is...

(Update) We ordered the Naga donner as usual, however when ordering, one of the members of staff shook his head and told us it would be "too spicy for the sister" and only reluctantly allowed me to order the same spice level as my husband when we told him I'd had it before. My family came to eat here once previously after they heard how good the donner was, and the same brother insisted to my dad that if he chose the 'hot' spice level for the naga donner it would be too spicy for him, despite my dad being a big fan of spicy food and the fact that there were still 2 more spice levels after hot that he actually wanted to choose from originally. My dad reassured him as much as he could that he'd be fine and he enjoys spicy food, but despite this when the brother brought the food to the table he informed my dad that he'd made it mild anyway. The result? A disappointingly bland experience for my dad who had been looking forward to a spicy meal.
I do appreciate being informed by staff about the level of spiciness in a dish I'm ordering, however this was not the way to do it at all - it's condescending and feels like our personal preferences are decided for us because our own judgement...
Read moreReviewed back in November 2020 | Overall the taste of the food lives up to the hype and expectations. However there are some issues to work on already.
I appreciate they opened new and they were somewhat busy (main orders for collections around 6pm). But, when I order according to the price on the menu I expect that item to be the same price as I saw on the menu. However that wasn't the case. I ordered double cheese burger which was £2.80 and apparently that item wasn't the right price on the menu. My initial order was Double Cheese Burger on it's own and Naga Strips on its own (£4.50). So the total should be £7.30. Instead I got given £1.70 change making the order £8.30 in total. Upon questioning the price I got told that the price on the menu wasn't correct, for a takeaway that just opened recently 🤔. So I cancelled the burger order and just got the Naga Strips, which I must say was definitely enjoyable to eat and tasty. It has a great kick and flavoursome.
The taste of the food is my only positive experience. But they need to improve their organisation...
