Disgusted with the experience I’ve just encountered whilst ordering a takeaway from balti house in tingley tonight. I’ve ordered before in the past with no issues but whilst I was eating tonight I bit into a small piece of rock in my curry - which also seems to have chipped my tooth. I rang to explain to the owner so he was aware and he apologised, offered to send the order again or offer a part refund which I accepted but explained I was only ringing to make him aware. He asked if I could pass over the stone to the delivery driver whilst bringing the refund over so they can check and find out where it has come from, which I said was completely fine.
When approached to do this by the delivery driver, I was accused of picking the stone up from the front of my house because the stone was “clean” and I had stones around the edge of my drive. I explained that I had only rinsed it after biting it to check what it was, (the stone also still smelt of the food at this point) and I also responded by saying that he can take the refund back with him if that was the issue as I merely rang to explain to the owner what had happened. I noticed afterwards through the window that the driver was walking back up to my house (my personal property) and started taking photos of my house and drive. Completely unacceptable treatment of a customer who had purely rang to let the restaurant and owner aware. Read moreThis is a rating for the food, which is always of the highest quality and the menu has a lot of great choices. The place loses a star because every time you call you end up shouting because the place is so small all you can hear are the kitchen staff shouting at each other and if they say come in 20 minutes I'd leave it 35 because they're never ready on time. The staff are friendly but I think they need to expand as they are so popular now they can't cope with the demand and it can be frustrating sometimes.
Updated review 26th February 2021: even more annoying is when they deliver the wrong items they're always so busy you can't then get through to complain and get it sorted. 20 minute extra delay because 1) they messed up and 2) they take the phone off the hook so you can't get through!!!!!

Read moreOur food was going to be delivered between before 20.05. Even though this was over an hour we were totally ok with this. However we called to see where our food was at 20.15 and were told the driver had been and we did not answer. The restaurant said we had a white door....of which we don't and and so it was obvious they had gone to the wrong address. We got a new time of 20.40. At 9pm we had to ring again. We were told again that the driver had tried to deliver the food at the house with the white door! Just to clarify the street on which we live has been here over 50 years and so we have never had issues with it being found before including from this restaurant. The manager or owner, I'm not sure, said he would cook fresh food and bring it with the driver and so the food eventually arrived at 21.40. I have asked through Just Eat for a refund and the restaurant have refused. I was not going to write a review however upon reading the notification about a refund I felt I had to because the service we have received has been shocking.
