The cuisine here is truly outstanding. If you are looking for REAL, authentic and most of all traditional Jamaican food, you won’t find anywhere better in Sussex! We have eaten here 6-8 times and have tried various dishes, including curry goat, the reggae roast chicken, plus many of the side dishes, such as plantain and coleslaw. Everything is cooked to perfection and is every bit what you would expect from a Jamaican chef who knows what he is doing.
The service is lovely from this family run place, where you are always greeted with a warm smile. The chef comes out to great diners which is a nice touch. The drinks selection is excellent too.
If Caribbean isn’t your thing, you are well looked after here (although why would you not want to sample it?)! You have your usual traditional pup food on the menu too. All looks good, but I’ll be honest, it’s curry goat or jerk chicken with rice and peas all the way for me!

The woman behind the bar did not even give us eye contact. She simply kept her eyes on her screen/till. We were told it would cost too much to clean the room after we would have left. There were no suggestions or apologies, just a cold reception…. If you have a dog, this is not the establishment for you. We simply had to leave and find alternative accommodation very last minute on a...

The landlord and staff were lovely; perfectly hospitable. The room was okay - road noise in the Cissbury room is quite noticeable despite the double glazing. I felt there was an underlying fried food smell in the room. Telly is a little on the small side but it's there all the same. Bed is super comfy; actually slept pretty well (two pints later... I know... lightweight!!)
The food was great - unfortunately I couldn't tuck into the Jamaican menu due to a stomach that whinces at the site of a chilli seed... I'm told it's really good -...
