Curry Cottage — Restaurant in Lewes

This is the worst curry and service I have ever received and I have been a customer for years. When I called to order I queried how much the delivery was, I did say it was about 2-2.5 miles roughly and the gentleman at curry cottage said it would be free delivery. Delivery turns up and I'm being charged £3 extra for delivery. I rang the curry cottage and queried this, they said because its further its a charge. This would of been good to be informed of prior to arrival and should of been checked there end considering I gave them my address.......I wasn't 100% accurate, I hold my hands up but I wasn't that far out, the gentleman said we will leave the delivery charge but if we order again then there would be a charge....he was very nice and we ended the call nicely. All of a sudden I get a call from curry cottage from a rude obnoxious gentle saying that I hadn't paid his delivery driver, I tried to explain the conversation I had with the previous gentleman, he didn't want to know. I said......you forgot the naan so take the delivery out of that and don't bother dropping it off. The gentleman angrily said not to take advantage and hung up! Furious is not the word! Don't order from here.......disgusting...

Great take away curry. We had a vegetarian curry with lots of delicious sides and naan. I ordered online and collected it myself. The kitchen has the highest hygiene rating (5/5), but the restaurant itself has been neglected and needs some TLC. When I got there the restaurant was empty, part of one of the exterior walls is falling down, and there is a strong smell of damp in the bar (which isn’t near the kitchen). I’m going to continue to support the take away (as the food was lovely), but I do hope improvements are made to the restaurant (DIY SOS?) as I’d love to dine...

Just spent £40 on 2 starters 2 mains and extras and i can honestly say it was horrendous a lamb korma that the meat was so tough the dog would have struggled to eat it and a lamb tikka dupiaza that the lamb was so over cooked it was like eating leather the poppadoms tasted terrible and the keema naan was drenched in oil. It was the first time i have used the curry cottage as ganges at Ringmer was closed and definitely wont...
