I absolutely love this pub. One of the best in the county.
To give you an idea how well worth a visit here is.. I live in Shoreham a town with 20+ drinking establishments within the town limits (trust me, we do a pub crawl every year) and I am quite happy to drive 20 minutes down the road to be warmly welcomed at The Swan.
There are several reasons why..
They are a proper beer drinkers pub. No music piped in. Open fires when needed and house beers you’ll find nowhere else) two examples being Hacker Pschorr & Palmers.
Plus friendly knowledgeable staff who don’t intrude but have a funny story if you wish to engage.
They do also have sport on but with 3 separate bar areas, if that’s not your thing then you can relax

Read moreI gave a 4 stars as it was a Saturday afternoon around lunch time but there wasn't much people in the place itself.
I went before like 5-6 years ago and it was a blast with tons of people with a lot of atmosphere, wish it could of been the same this time around.
I had a chocolate brownie with some ice cream and frozen raspberries and it just melted in my mouth what was really nice but would of enjoyed a little more firmness to it.
Staff were lovely and quick to respond to customers but maybe because it was slow what is expected for having quick service, Not being mean just truthful.

Not sure Palmers have another pub this far East of the Dorset brewery. Always superb, excellent selection of Palmers ale on the pumps; plus some other guest ales. The Swan is the closest pub to the The Amex Stadium, home of the mighty Brighton & Hove Albion FC. Consequently, pub gets extremely busy on match days.
