Ivory Tusk — Restaurant in Lichfield

This is a great place! This is our go-to curry place for me and my wife for a dinner out. Bring-your-own-drink is a winner, too. The food is always really good, with a varied menu, the service is attentive and the staff are happy to prepare food to your needs or advise on your selection.

Case in point: we took our boys here after our 6y/o said he liked curry and naan from primary school... And we wanted to show him what the real deal was! The staff were so welcoming and even though our kids are quite new to eating out they were made to feel really at home. The waiter spent a good while helping us select a good taster menu for their little taste buds, and during the meal kept coming back to check we were OK.

The verdict...? By three forkfuls in, the boys were shouting 'this food is so yummy I don't believe it!'

Went for a meal there with my wife and very good friends, her sister and husband..Was greeted warmly and our table was clean and nicely laid out. Service was quick and efficient and the plates were hot (important to me ) just before the food was served.. All dishes were of excellent quality and we all agreed and had a taste of each others.. Afterwards, the plates were collected quickly but had no feeling of "hurry up" or anything like it..We were able to finish our drinks in a timely manner, which we took ourselves as they're not licensed (preferred)..The bill was very reasonable for four people with side orders too, about 15 pounds each !! Tamworth is not a huge cosmopolitan town and this restaurant is a quiet little gem, worthy of attendance by all who want great Indian cuisine..Will definitely be going again, love the place. Highly...

Oh dear, after reading all the great reviews of this place I was left very disappointed. Booked a table for 2 and when we arrived it looked like total confusion we were actually there. The manners of the 2 older chaps at the counter was awful, when we were asked what we wanted to order, the man literally walked up to the table and all he said in a very abrupt manor was "YES" not even looking at us. The food was less than average all very bland and generic no unique taste to it, no one said have a nice night or anything like that when we left, just very rude yet again, this despite us just having paid £50 of our hard earned money for a sub standard meal. I would not recommend this place to anyone and will definitely not...
