The Shed — Restaurant in Lichfield

Ice cream was lovely however the female manager/owner was so incredibly rude and ruined our whole overall rating. It first started off with her giving my mother disgusted looks when she sat down on one of the benches, we believe this is because the bench was also being used by a young employee who was manning the golf and go kart sales. However there were no other seats available and we needed to sit in the shade due to having two young children with us and it being sunny and warm. The young employee didn’t mind us sitting there and was having a conversation with us, they were incredibly polite and friendly, if we were rating this employee, they would receive 5 stars. The young employee was then talking to another family who was filling a form in, she then stormed over to him and asked what he was doing as there were other people waiting, however they were dealing with this other families query and the employee tried to explain that to her. She then jabbed the young employee and told them to step to the side, we could then hear her ranting at this employee, we could not hear what was being said but we could hear the tone of voice she was using and she was being incredibly rude and sharp with them. This young employee looked upset by the way she spoke to them. She then told them to go and get the keys for her to unlock a store cupboard and they did so, she then told them to sit on the table and not move from there. While she was doing all of this with the employee she kept looking over at myself and my mother on the table and giving us intimidating looks. She then went back into the shop. After 10 minutes she came back out huffing and puffing, came up to by where we were sitting and took two seats off some go karts that had just been handed back in, she then threw the two seats onto the table that us and the employee were sitting on and then stormed off. We had a baby and a young child sitting with us, her throwing the seats could have easily have become an injury to them or to us. While this behaviour is completely unacceptable regardless, we were paying customers at this establishment and did not deserve to be treated this way. Shocking experience from this shop today, my 2 year old daughter accidentally trapped her foot in a crazy golf hole managed by this store, we had to call the fire brigade to rescue her after she was trapped, some brilliant members of the public were so quick in trying to help free her as she was getting terribly distressed...one helping member of the public tried to help and was looking for something to unfreeze Elizabeth, in desperation he reached for the first thing he saw, a free standing flag pole from this store, the reaction from the owner was nothing short of staggering...screaming and shouting whilst standing over my distressed daughter claiming MY FLAG COST £150 HOW DARE YOU USE IT....she snatched it back and walked off, with no care to my daughter leaving her distressed and in pain her foot wedged....totally appalled my words cannot describe the sheer shocking behaviour from this owner to leave a 2 year old girl in total distress....she was finally rescued by our...

You can call me biased on this review but that's okay. When you've known the owner of this establishment your entire life you have a unique insight into how much pride and ownership they have with this new endeavor. Months of hard work and planning have finally come to fruition. I have listened eagerly and watched with excitement at how well The Shed has come together and how great it looks! Each offering of coffee, tea, bakery items, and more were considered, tried, and selected to bring the locals something different and unique. Not to mention the already wonderful ice cream offerings from Cannock Dairies, which are so very yummy! This is only their 2nd week open and they have been working long days to bring it all together and provide outstanding service and products to their customers.
