Haven't been to the Crown for a long time so as we were in the area last week we called in. A very busy and popular place but we did manage to get a table. Polite and friendly staff and the 2 for 1 offer is very good. A very attentive waitress took our drinks order whilst we looked at the menu and the specials board and on her return with the drinks took our food order. Considering how busy they were our food arrived without a long wait. The quality of the food was lovely well presented and piping hot served with a smile. The Crown is definatly worth a visit but at peak times or a bigger party probably best to book a table. I will definatly be returning excellent food at sensible prices.

I can't fault the food, it was quiet for a bank holiday, the prawn cocktail I had was amazing, the staff were nice enough. But here's where my negative review comes from, (And before I get a reply saying you should have brought this up at the time, it shouldn't have been an issue for me to raise ! Please go look over the high chairs ) My 8 month old is sticking everything in her mouth as they do, which is why she ate sat on my lap, not ideal, and not in a high chair because I was given a high chair that still had the last kids macaroni cheese stuck to the seat, and imbedded food on the straps that she would have been touching.

First visit was yesterday at 6pm Saturday dinner time

When first walking in walked to the bar and the barmaid working without saying hello said you're gonna have to wait abit okay, After waiting I then said I would like to order two drinks which she did very promptly and then carried on making an order to another table which another couple walked over and yet again she said to them you're gonna have to wait to be served okay before even saying hello, found this was abit rude even if she's busy and feels pressure to make drinks least you can say is hello.

When sat about ten past 6 it took a good half an hour for someone to come over and serve us which we ordered the exact same meal two steaks, no mushrooms as I have an allergy, they didn't tell me the process of how they deal with an allergen process in the kitchen and they also didn't replace the knifes and forks left on the table for me for a freshly washed pair as they're supposed to do.

We waited for about 2 hours for our food finally being served at 8:30 not once in this time did someone come over to our table with an update of how long our meals would take or even the option for them to serve us for another drink whilst waiting at our table.

The steaks we ordered medium rare which they were quite tough and the fat wasn't quite rendered as it felt spongy and tasted like raw fat and had no crust at all to the fat.

Overall quite...

Six of us visited here today for the first time as a work xmas lunch meal. They had Bingo as an event ran by Dave and it was the first time this event was taken place. We were greeted warmly by Dave and as a family member also attended with a 1year old (who normall becomes unsettled at times) where catered for eg high chair offered. The baby was very settled throughout the time spent there, exploring as well as eaten his ordered meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, with great atmosphere, lovley staff who were courteous and helpful throughout. The Bingo was such fun and when other people attended, it was a lovley gathering....lots of laughter and wins toboot.

Meals were hot and easy on the eye and an small issue I has was dealt with promptly and professionally. Not one plate was had left overs. Great value for the money and we all left feeling full and contented. We picked the 2 course meal for £12 with tip added was still great value.

Lovley clean and nicely decorated pub and spacious layout. Great event board as well and you can see how community orientated they are with the events that they are having.

I am particular when I go out to places especially eating out and would definitely recommend a visit to The Crown. We will be returning especially for the Bingo events on the...

At 2.15pm on Saturday 22nd March 2025 my wife and I where driving by, last second said to each other "fancy lunch" by this time we had missed the slip road into pub, so around the roundabout we went and crossed the dual carriageway at the rising sun.

We where greated by such a lovely joung lady by the name of Mollie, though we had o viously not booked a table in Advance, without any fuss she mafe us feel very welcome and showed us to a table.

For drinks we just asked for water, I was expecting a glass of tepid water from the tap, what we got was heaven sent, ice cold water in a clean glass that had ice and slice.

We ordered our food, was asked if we had any allergies, I replied "only to paying" bad dad joke I know. Mollie humoured me all the same.

We eat with our eyes dont we, the food presented to us, a mixed grill for me and gamon for wife, was so well presented on the plate and it tasted as good as it looked. Melt in the mouth meat and chips cooked to perfection.

Wife had a pudding, I was just stuffed.

What with the exceptional service from Mollie and the great food, our visit was memorable for all the best reasons.

Well done The Crown, see...
