Cook's Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Llanystumdwy

Absolutely loving our stay at Hafan y Môr and can't wait to return.

However our meal from Cooks Fish & Chips needs highlighting. These were astoundingly bad fish and chips. The Chips were overcooked, dry and tastless. The fish was also dry with stodgy batter that was also very dry. We were very hungry but we couldn't eat much of our meal. I think drowning it in gravy or curry sauce would have made the whole thing more palatable.

On the plus side the serving staff were really nice, the large fish was a really good size and the whole thing was well packaged and bagged up. In conclusion though It was a total waste of money and I couldn't recommend Cook's Fish & Chips.

Fish was nice, scampi over priced when they are just using young' s scamp that you can buy in a supermarket as I saw them come out from the freezer with the bag. There was no sense of urgency with the staff, considering it is fairly out of season, I would hate to think how long we would wait in peak season! Staff need to cut down on the polystyrene and plastic that they use! I ordered to portions of pickled onions and then put each onion in a polystyrene pot with a lid, I would be happy with them being wrapped in the paper, same with the battered sausage, it was laid in a polystyrene tray that it was to big for anyway, again I would be happy with paper, it would save them sooooooooo much packaging especially if they do that for...

Had the one in Porthmadog but it doesn't have a feedback page so leaving one here, you know what if this place was half the price I wouldn't of left a review the fact I found my self eating £26 worth of chips and fish that was the size of my thumb with majority of battar on it is absolutely crazy. you definitely deserve a 1 star review, looks like im going straight to the crapper after this because my belly don't feel great after it either, if it was like £5 I would of took it on the chin because I know about the concept of you get what you pay for but definitely not the case with these guys.
