Albany Hotel — Restaurant in London

My mother & father have lived around the corner from The Albany for over 20 years but hadn’t been inside due to less than favourable reputation. WHAT A MISTAKE!! When my father passed away a few weeks ago we decided to book the Albany for my father’s wake & from start to finish they were absolutely fantastic! Their kindness towards my mother was lovely, their professionalism was top notch and the food was outstanding the chef could not do enough for us everything was made fresh to order to suit individual requirements. Leaving just one star is too much. The state of the function room was grim, there were patches of damp on the walls, ripped curtains, the whole place didn’t have a good smell about it, there were many electrical wires hanging loosely from the walls. The women’s loos were just plain dirty, the sink hadn’t been cleaned for a long time and the floor needed to be vacuumed. My husband found the men’s toilet to be disgusting with no working hand dryer or paper towels. The buffet food was mediocre at best. However, the calor gas heaters, did create a certain 1970s caravan holiday atmosphere.

I would not recommend the place and most certainly won’t...
