Mediocre food, unimpressed, muted flavours, aimed at typical 'english' customers

I ordered the tarka dal, peshwari naan and spinach paneer dish. The man i spoke to was very kind and gave me free delivery even though what I ordered was uuner £20. The food arrived quickly within 30 mins, however the deluvery man (resteruant staff, he was wearing a suit) looked absolutely miserable, like it was the last place he would want to be. Didnt even smile omce, which was a bit of a let down considering the glowing reviews fir hospitality of staff.

The naan was delicious, however the two other dishes were honestly quite bland. The tarka daal tasted very muted, hardly any garlic flavour, very bland. Very underseasoned, I had to add a large sprinkle of salt for this to taste of anything.

The paneer dish was slightly better but again completely muted flavours, im guessing they have wiped all spice from their menu to cater for their english customers, but this was ridiculous.

I wont be ordering from there again, frankly dissapointed, didnt feel...

A big smile, this is how I went out from this restaurant, and this is how you want go out from every restaurant. I walk in with a bit of doubt, the place is not really spacefull and the bar is in a corner. I sit down and the waiter arrive , from the very first moment he attract my attention, he was welcoming, funny and knowledgeable about the menu, all in the right balance. We order , the food arrive not to quick and not to late, this is good i thought. Start to eat and from the first bite I been dragged in a new world of flavours, the balance of taste was really good and I could enjoy a really tastefull meal. From service to food this place can have my double thumbs up. I'll give the 5 stars, and this is rare , the restaurant have a lot of potential, can be decorated a bit better maybe. Hadn’t been for a while and made a last minute reservation to go with friends. It was very disappointing. The food we ordered had too much colouring and that included the Chana Masala which was pink and bland needing salt. When we asked about a particular dish we saw on another table the waiter didn’t know what it was. The service was bad considering the ratio of staff to customers. We were ignored and not offered drink refills, coffee etc and when we finally got the attention of a waiter he leant over me in such away that I felt uncomfortable and his breath was on the back of my head. When we complained about the food and the service to another waiter he dragged some poor guy over and said to us he is new here and it’s his fault and made him apologise. Very bizarre.
