Firstly the service was amazing and this review is not a reflection for how lovely the staff were. The food was really poor. The salt levels were low and the spicing was wrong. We are indian ourselves so we know good food. There was an weird aftertaste to both the baingan and the dal makhni. The rice was good but plain rice is plain rice. The butter naan my partner said was also good. The sliced onions were delcious. The starters were also pretty poor. The paneer nawabi was dry and probably not marinated in yoghurt. All the moisture was sucked out of the pieces and the end result was a cloying texture in the mouth. The mogo again my partner said was OK but not great. We were recommended this restaurant whilst we were eating at the regency in Queensbury, where we were told by another customer to try chilli lovers as their dishes are cheaper and just as nice. Sadly not only was that not the case but the food at the regency is 10/10 and incredible so it is hard to beat. Chilli lovers for us was a 2/10 at best. Side note but due to the poor sound insulation, the noise was unbearable in the restaurant. Really wanted to love chilli lovers but sadly it was not meant...
Read moreWe’ve been here a couple of times now and each time it’s been truly wonderful - honestly the food is exceptional. We usually go to bigger named places in the area but I went here with my boys and the food is just as good if not better than Regency or Purple Flame. We went here again the last weekend of August for my birthday and the ladies that host were very welcoming even though it was a Sunday and a bit of early due to us having our 2 year old with us. I’d highly recommend the mixed grill and extra portion of lamb chops as they are truly tasty and moreish. Even the Chaat the ladies had was very nice as was the mutton main which is yummy. All the food is very freshly made and extremely good quality so I’d highly recommend giving this place a go. Don’t worry about the decor or seating area - I’d rather eat well than pay extra to sit in a pretentious place where the food is given second thoughts. We are even going here again this weekend for my wife’s birthday as she loved it so much! Thank you Chilli Lovers and keep up the good work guys. Will probably see you again this...

FSA Food Hygiene rating at time of writing - 3 out of 5 stars
GOOD: Great waitress, Service, Tandoori Wings I heard were good (for non veg), Reasonable prices. Large range of dishes and lamb dishes looked okay. The brocolli was not tandoor cooked, it was cooked in a thick, red chinese style sauce like the mixed vegetable dish BAD: You wallk into a tiny dining area and see iniside an old, grubby and dated kitchen, old and filthy toilets. They only do roasted popadoms The drinks were expensive and mini versions of the cans and bottles (mixer sizes) Tiny bar Red food colouring in every dish! The Mushrooms and Vegetarian dishes were in a thick sauce and dripping in oil. The mixed grill had no lamb chops, small and red food colour everywhere Fried wings came out a burn red/brown The paneer was skinny and tastless Small portions of Dahl The chef is from another place up the road
Overall, maybe good for meat eaters, but I wouldnt go back there again. Food was shockingly bad and decor old dated and dirty with cramped...
