I am giving it one star because it is impossible to give 0.
I have always heard bad reviews about Chaiiwala. Nevertheless i wanted to give it a go and decide myself. But unfortunately i wish I listened and not wasted my money and time. I ordered their classic Karak chai, which was surprisingly good, and ordered their Masala Chips, I thought “hmm you can’t go wrong with chips”. I was so wrong. I ordered the chips with chilli powder and cheese, (they charge 20p extra for a sprinkle of chilli powder btw). The chips arrived cold and soggy, to the point the cheese on top wasn’t melting, however i thought, maybe the ones at the bottom would be hot, but they were slightly warm. The chips were FLAVOURLESS , not spicy at all, so why was I charged an extra 20p?. Tasteless. Not even salted properly. (You might say ‘you could’ve asked for salt’ but I didn’t want to sprinkle some salt on top and not be able to mix it, because then I would be left with cold, soggy, undercooked but salty chips.) I cannot emphasise how unappetising the food was. It was so bad that I couldn’t even finish it, but i somehow did because i hate wasting food.
After my visit, i started reading the reviews because i wanted to know if other people’s experience was as bad as mine or if I was overreacting. So someone wrote: “The so called Masala Chips were soggy undercooked chips drenched in watery tomato ketchup and a few bits of spring onion for decoration” this review was written a year ago, and it is said that Chaiiwala did nothing to improve the quality of their ‘dishes’.
Morale of the story, only go to Chaiiwala for their Chai if you are too lazy to make it at home, and nothing else. I am not disappointed cause I wasn’t expecting much, but very upset cause i wasted my money. Chaiwaala...
Read moreI went to the chai wala in greenford with a friend who also works in chai wala (a different branch) I order my breakfast and the beans were completely cold as was my friends. It’s not a big deal, I understand these things can happen. So I took the beans over and the lady at the toll took them both in. I waited near the till area. I could hear the lady and other college complaining about it, and ended the conversation with “Hindi na bhool” meaning don’t speak in Hindi. However, I had already heard and understood everything they said at this point. I went and sat back down because I felt like the lady at the till was very annoyed. Later she called out for me to come and get the beans and the rest of my order, and didn’t bring it to the table. She shouted over till to the end of the restaurant three times and refused to come over and refused to apologise for the cold food. I. noticed she over charged a drink, and she didn’t amend this either.
Mistakes happen, however I don’t believe the staff should have got annoyed about it and then secondly carried on serving us with an extremely hostile and rude manner. I will not be going to the chai wala in greenford ever again. I have been to various branches and this was by far the worst...
Read moreWe visit this cafe usually once a week and also do frequent takeaways and in past have always had a good experience, but never had such a bad experience as today. The staff should be complacent and conduct cleaning tasks after hours and should not ruin the customers experience.
The girl with glasses and grey eyes (her name badge wasn’t viable) started hoovering and kept moving tables and chairs aggressively, which was very disturbing.
After a bit she came back with bucket of hot water with bleach and started mopping the entire café. It had very strong smell of bleach. She didn’t even put any signs of wet floor and she also moved all the tables in front of the entrance door for good 5 /10 mins, which is not in line with Health and...
