Like others have said there’s a weird/rude front of house manager/owner … not sure what he is. My friend and I popped in before a movie. Relaxed vibe, we didn’t see a ‘please wait here sign’, about 50% of the tables were occupied and 50% free, there were no front of house staff, we stood for a couple of minutes before deciding to sit thinking maybe it was seat yourself. It’s a pretty casual place and be it wasn’t obvious if you waited to be seated and no one was there to ask. As soon as we sat the ?manager? Came over aggressively asking if we had a booking, we said no and that we could take another table, he walked away without answering and started talking heatedly to a waiter while gesturing at us. We waited a long time with no menus so I got up to get us some off the side. The waiter then realised we hadn’t been given menus, came over and apologised to us and said the manager was just angry with us and he was like that but not to let it bother us. Again we offered to move (the restaurant still has more than enough empty tables). The waiter said we didn’t need to move, the table wasn’t booked and again apologised. The manager for the entire 45 minutes we were there kept staring at us rolling his eyes and tutting, it was super uncomfortable. The food was nice, the waiter polite but this other guy ruined our meal. When the bill came I tried to be kind to the waiter (who was clearly having a hard time with the manager and looked really stressed) and he again apologised for the managers behaviour. Won’t be returning and I’m a member of Everyman cinema and this has just become my local cinema so they’ve lost a would be regular Monday night customer with this bizarre behaviour. We looked for a please wait to be seated sign on the way out and still...

Calamari starter was a miserable portion, it almost worked out at a £1 per piece.
Then the pizzas were under cooked and soggy which we had to return, Happy Face had just one job...
Then we looked on in horror as the pizza guy shook his head and disagreed with the waiter that there was anything wrong with our pizzas.
Did the usual pizza guy ring in sick and they drafted in the burger flipper from the nearby MacDonalds to cover for him?!
That said, managing to under cook a pizza in a proper pizza oven is a feat in of itself, aren't they around 400 degrees celsius? Now that's impressive.
We ended up getting replacement pizzas that were properly cooked, however they were bland as an episode of Coronation Street and lacked any flavour at all.
Even copious amounts of chilli oil couldn't salvage this sorry excuse for a pizza.
On top of all this, for 6pm on a Thursday, the atmosphere was like the waiting room in a cancer hospital.
There were more staff than customers and they all looked like they'd rather be somewhere else, in fact they all looked like they'd rather be anywhere else.
I've got to give kudos to whoever named this restaurant 'Happy Face' they must have one helluva sarcastic sense of humour.
Even Domino's is better than this place, not kidding.
I'd give it 0 out of 5 stars if I could.
But other than that it...
