Hungry Belly Norbury — Restaurant in London

AN ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES!!! If there was an option of giving ZERO stars I honestly would. We visited for the first time to see 2 people running the place. We ordered over the counter and people ordering after us including over the phone were receiving their orders before us. After 1 hour of patiently waiting for our order, we were honestly disappointed. On reaching home, the order was messed up so we called the store to immediately complain but there was no answer the phones. The food is overrated and the portions are small - don’t know what the fuss is about and also how they have 4.5 star Google reviews.

When someone finally answered the phone, we were told they are very busy so we left our details and requested management to call us regarding our complaint. The owner was quick to call me the next day and stated that they were short staffed on the day and promised us a partial refund and to “sort me out the next time I visit”. 3 months later - he has made no attempt to contact me and i have not received any partial refund. I contacted the owner, no answer but he replied via text and was offered 15% off next visit / purchase and my partial refund messages ignored / not responded to.

We won’t be going back as the 15% discount and the clear disregard to my messages of money back is an insult. Stay away and spend your money elsewhere.

For the record, when I have had issues with food in any places - I always air my concerns and complain regardless of the establishment - because we earn a halal income, Alhamdulillah and all have all right to complain.

The owner asked me how he should resolve my issue in his text response with “what do you want from me” (extremely professional) to which i responded “you tell me bruh”. I respectfully countered his shabby 15% discount with a PROPOSED 50% discount with no partial refund (which imo is fair) only due to the length of time and only because there was no contact from him in months or contact to his proposed partial refund. The owner is referring to my 50% counter offer as begging him for further discount = he failed to state that my last offer to his 15% was a £20 partial refund and 25% off.

Usman, you state that I should have some respect at the beginning of your response and then disrespect me by saying I'm a shambles and text me to say I'm a joker for my review- maybe you should practice what you preach as you have showed no respect to me as a customer.

It's awesome that when communication fail, as you're not budging from your 15% discount off the next purchase, your 1 time customer (me) then declines your offer only to leave an honest review to inform customers and then told by the owner in response to your review that you’re "begging" for discount. Customer service at its best.

Finally, my final text to Usman (the owner) was that I give him permission to share screenshots of our comms and also if i have lied about or made anything up - to inform me and i will delete it from the above. No response...

Ordered through Uber eats and the food was a disappointment. Dry and stale burger buns and I found a sharp bone in my chicken fillet burger. Very dangerous. My son’s cheeseburger had a horrible, bitter taste, almost like the lettuce was expired or the burger was burnt on the grill. My son couldn’t finish it, so just ate the chips. My wife got the spicy smash burger but it was very bland. There was more spice in my chicken fillet burger! On top of that, they sent me the wrong drink. The only thing semi decent was the chips. Don’t think I’ll be ordering from here again. It’s a shame because when they first opened a year or two ago, it was delicious, but may have changed management since or just not kept up with the competition. Spend your money elsewhere in Norbury, there are so many better...

Went to Hungry Belly a few weeks ago to try their loaded fries. Very tasty and unique. Then noticed it had closed for some reason. Glad to see it's reopened with the same people. Went and got their Mexican Smash Burger and loaded fries. Very nice. Burger came grilled to perfection. Loaded Fries were fantastic, lots of chicken and sauce covering. Ordered a large plain fries and they were extremely crunchy right the way through Will definelty be going again. Management were very pleasant and friendly. Staff were polite and efficient.
