I have been here several times before and the standard of quality is dropping. The last time I visited I ordered 10 chicken wings and chips it looked perfect but the chicken had gone off and it smelt awful. I was reimbursed for the wings only and advised that the chicken was fresh. I decided to give it another try because previous experiences had been great. I ordered from their new Curry range and ordered the beef Masala it arrived with a splash of rice on a huge plate and the beef Masala curry in a metal bowl next to the rice. It tasted really nice but the presentation was poor. The rice was not cupped or placed in a bowl. I thought it was unhygienic to place a metal bowl against the rice in the plate because the bowl could have been placed anywhere previously. Also the portion of rice offered was not enough for a child although it tasted really nice. It was literally 3-4 table spoon serving. No popadom or Nan bread offered as described in the menu. After questioning I was advised that it is not part of the order although it states as advertised. We paid just under £7.00 inc an alcoholic drink. Would be better if the rice was served in a bowl and more of it and everything offered provided. Left feeling...
Read moreWould leave zero stars if I could. My family went to enjoy the match and after England’s humiliating defeat, the bartender felt it appropriate to hurl racist abuse towards my Latin family, they’re not even Spanish but I wouldn’t expect a smooth brained individual who works in a pub to be able to tell the difference.
He shouted at my auntie and nephew to the point where my 5 year old nephew was crying. Wetherspoons being a company that promotes diversity and inclusivity, I am absolutely appalled by the behaviour of their staff.
I have made a report to the police and will be following this up very closely. I will also be contacting Wetherspoons head office to ensure that the employee receives some sort of disciplinary action. To my utter dismay, the managers present refused to provide me with the name of the racist bartender. They’re clearly trying to shelter one of their own.
You can expect a visit from me when I return from abroad. We’ll see how racist you are to a man’s face.
Absolutely DISGUSTING.
This is precisely the reason England will never bring...
Read moreMy husband and I recently visited Wetherspoon, and our experience was incredibly disappointing. We ordered two beers and an Aperol. While my husband was served his beer, I was refused the Aperol because, according to the staff, I didn't look over 18 years old (I'm 24). None of my electronic documents were accepted as proof of age.
We decided to sit on the terrace, and I took two sips of my drink before a female waitress approached us, took all of the beers away, and issued a refund. However, the refund was only for the full beers; they did not refund the partially consumed one.
Frustrated, we went home to get my physical documents and returned to the establishment, hoping to enjoy our time together. But the evening was already ruined when we were flat-out refused service, despite now having my ID. The female staff members working there were utterly incompetent, while the man at the bar had no issues with us. It’s a shame how a simple outing was turned into such a negative experience due to the lack of professionalism from...
