Kitchen & Pantry — Restaurant in London

Unfortunately I had a bad experience at this place.. Right before I ordered my breakfast I asked if any of their plug sockets were working as I had a meeting in an hour and had to charge my laptop, the lady at the counter confirmed they are.. So I ordered some food and tried 4 different plug sockets to find out that none were in working order. In the end the manager told me that the fridge in the kitchen brew up last week and none of the sockets were working. I asked her why didn't she tell me this before but for some reason the manage was extremely rude and unfriendly to me. In the end I just had to leave.. Cant comment on the food as I didn't eat :( The whole situation just put me off the place.. I won't go there again as I didn't really feel welcomed..

Advise to future customers, if you need some work doing just make sure you check the plug sockets are working before you order food and don't trust the staff if they say they...

Whatever happened to this cosy neighbourhood favourite? As of 2017 the long standing Chiswick corner café has seemingly lost its reputation for efficiency and flexibility by introducing table service (so much slower + really odd for regulars) and has rigidly enforced menus (eg. a set breakfast which apparently can't be adapted - this was one of the nicest aspects in the past as you could easily customise orders). Only the music and sofas seem familiar, but the atmosphere has changed and friends who were fans have mentioned it too. Gone are the friendly smiles of the past and in has come a strange new regime where it's more of a canteen with clattering crockery collections and less of a special lounging place to meet friends. Less child friendly too, which really makes it out of kilter with other cafés in the High Road....

I thought I would have a nice crepes and tea today but after experiencing such a rude attitude from a member of the staff I lost my appetite. I came and ordered my food and sat down. After 10 mins a member of the staff said to me to sit in the corner because they want to pull my table and the other one together???? (I was sitting at the table with 2 seats not with 8.) Because arrived 5 other people. I said to him don’t bother I am leaving. I want my refund for the food I ordered and never see you again!!

How can you ask someone who is already there for 10 minuets and sitting waiting for the food to leave the seats because other people came in. They should either wait or going somewhere else. I said to the staff the biggest problem that he didn’t realise how rude is that to ask.
