UPDATE 11/11/2024 The car parking is still chaotic, as their home delivery car drivers and biker's seem to have been given carte blanche to park wherever they want, and that appears to include the only 2 disabled parking spaces, despite this being reported to managers on a regular basis.
The food, though, is really nice, but the atmosphere is appalling. It is a soulless unwelcoming experience!
The restaurant is very unwelcoming, not because it's dirty or the staff are unhelpful because they are not, it's because the ordering is all on screens and you collect your order at a soulless, drab counter where you have to wait for a member of staff to appear from the kitchen with your order in a paper bag unlike most McDonald's, where you get your order nicely presented on trays!
There are no condiments, napkins, sugar, or stirrers available for customers unless you can grab someone at the counter, I waited for 5 minutes just to get sugar and napkins!
It feels like they are doing you a favour as they ration what is freely available in most McDonald's.
They really should have a permanent staff presence at the counter.
The food, though, is hot and tasty, which I suppose is all you really want, but it would be nice if the place was more welcoming.
UPDATE 29/03/24
The 2 disabled parking spaces are continually being used by the cars of delivery drivers who should know better!
UPDATE 15/06/24
You can't order at the counter because you can't ever get the staff's attention.
They obviously want customers to use the ordering screens rather than staff the counter. The only problem with using the screens is that they now only show "for takeaway only," but I was told you can still eat in store. Also, they never seem to have any paper to print a receipt.
The branch appears to be trying to reduce the staff interaction with customers. Your order now comes in a paper bag, and trays are a thing of the past.
Getting sugar, napkins, salt, pepper, ketchup, stirrers, milk, etc. is akin to "Oliver" asking for more!
If McDonald's aim is to reduce costs, then rationing these items, removing front of house counter staff, only allowing ordering by the screens, not having paper to get a printed receipt, making the customer interface unfriendly to eat in customers, plus prioritising delivery orders and takeaways over eat in customers, then this very poor branch is the blueprint...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting the McDonald's in Chingford, and I can confidently say that it was one of the worst fast-food experiences I've ever had. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that this particular McDonald's was a complete disappointment in every aspect.
To start, the service was abysmal. The staff seemed completely disinterested in their jobs and displayed a lack of basic customer service skills. Not only were they slow and inefficient, but they also exhibited a shocking level of rudeness and indifference towards customers. It felt as though they couldn't care less about providing a positive experience.
The state of the restaurant was appalling. The dining area was filthy, with tables covered in greasy stains and food debris. The floors were sticky and looked as though they hadn't been cleaned in ages. It was an incredibly unappetizing and unsanitary environment to dine in. It's unacceptable for a restaurant, especially a global chain like McDonald's, to maintain such low cleanliness standards.
Now let's talk about the food. The quality was absolutely horrendous. The burgers were lukewarm, tasteless, and appeared as if they had been sloppily thrown together. The buns were stale, and the meat patties were overcooked and dry. The fries were a complete disaster - they were cold, soggy, and lacked any semblance of crispiness. It was as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, losing any semblance of freshness.
To make matters worse, the overall management of this McDonald's was clearly lacking. It's evident that there was a complete disregard for quality control and customer satisfaction. With such a prominent and well-established brand, I expected a higher standard of service and food, but unfortunately, this location failed to deliver on even the most basic expectations.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against visiting the McDonald's in Chingford. The dreadful service, unsanitary conditions, and abysmal food quality make it an absolute nightmare of a fast-food establishment. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment by seeking an alternative dining option...
Read moreIt’s hit and miss I’m afraid. This weekend awful. We ordered via the app paid then got our code SN47. Then agree to collect in the drive thru. Told the young man taking orders, he said the order hasn’t gone through, but he was happy to wait while we checked the order on the app. It requested payment again, I did but it still didn’t go through, I told him I would go in and order. Altogether paid 3 times. Now I’m stuck in the Drive thru queue with no hope of getting out. I drove past the payment window a bit then and the young man told me to reverse back. “Have I taken your order?”, “yes I’m the lady that where the order didn’t go through,” Now I’m still stuck in the queue. The man in the van before me had a big order and we waited, waited & waited. My real problem was when I got to the food window where the young woman tried to give me a tray of drinks! I told her I was stuck in the queue and my order didn’t go through, she asked why it didn’t go through, I said because the app is rubbish. “You could have asked the man in front to wait in a bay”, “he refused” she said to with an attitude. Firstly I don’t believe this, secondly why didn’t she get a floor manager to deal with the customer? She told me there’s no point because we can’t force them to move. The point is that the manager may have had management and communication skills this girl didn’t possess and be able to persuade him to wait in a bay with extra fries etc. If the man at the order taking and payment had told manager a manager about me stuck in the drive thru without food on the way it could have solved many problems including me be extremely irate with the rude girl with the attitude handling out drinks to the wrong customers without saying Hello nicely & making eye contact. The reason for me becoming irate was her parting question as I was driving off “Why did you queue then?” with the attitude that I was a moron & not on the receiving end of McDonalds Poor customer service being...
