We tried South Cypriot cuisine and chose four meze menus in total, two seafood and two meat. The menu included cold meze, warm starters and salad. The seafood platter had calamari and breaded prawns, but both were lacking in flavour. The salad wasn’t great either, probably because the tomatoes in the UK aren’t very tasty. On the positive side, the owners were attentive and friendly. The chips, fish, souvlaki, octopus and cold meze were all very good. It would be great if these could be improved. On weekdays, the kitchen closes at 8.00 pm. On Fridays and Saturdays, it...
Read moreSo disappointed with our visit to Paneri today. We have been coming to Paneri for 20+ years and our meals today were terrible. We had dishes missing from our Meze (6 small plates, the seafood platter, the mushroom and egg dish and the filo pastries). We were not told dishes would be missing until we queried it. My husband got a dry lamb dish (we are not sure what it was because he asked the waiter for his favourite dish!). We were charged £39.50 for this which seems very overpriced when you can get a meat platter for 2 for around £50! We didn’t check the bill until we got home as it was an afterthought that the bill was high! We also didn’t receive a discount for the Mezes even though a lot of dishes were missing. This experience has left such a bad taste in our mouths that we would not return even if they paid us. We are so upset as Paneri has always been a...
Read moreA well-known Cypriot restaurant in North London and one of the oldest. An exceptional meatplatter which is one of their classics and most famous. Really nice traditional Cypriot dishes and salads. I had sword fish kebabs which was decent and nicely cooked. The only thing that always puts you off is their lack of desserts (It's always a tiny piece of baklava). Also, it will be really nice to acknowledge your clients and show the very basic appreciation. When we are greeted we always answer and greet back. Please have the very basic social skills and manners, especially when you are at the front of the restaurant. Overall, I always enjoy the food and I highly recommend it for, a good service but you do need to have some desserts (i.e. loukoumades, daktula, bourekia, kalo prama, pishies...). (And when people leave try to talk to...
