Ordered a gourmet beef burger meal with peri chips and chicken Fillet burger meal online for delivery. After I paid for my order I called the restaurant to request that they put onions mayonnaise and lettuce in my beef burger only with no cheese. This was agreed and I waited.
1 hour 22 minutes later still no food. I called the restaurant to find out what's going on. Apparently the driver had already left with the food and was on his way. About 1 and a half hours after my order the food arrived. I complained to the driver but he said its been very busy. Not good enough to be honest.
Now for the food:
Negative: The food was all boxed up, admittedly it's always boxed up, but chips get soggy because of the trapped steam. Not sure why restaurants don't understand this. Received chips that felt they had been run under the tap. The peri chips were too spicy, and tasted more like Masala chips and overly salty. I couldn't eat them. Maybe they put too much peri powder. My burger came with cheese, lettuce, cucumber and mayonnaise. I mean seriously!? When I was specific about what I wanted why the hell did they ignore my request? Because of the lettuce and cucumber the bun was soaked! Imagine soaking a sponge in water lightly... That was how the bun had become. Horrible! Overall the food could have done with no added water 🙄 The beef burger was tasteless
Positive: Chips portion was large for each meal Lots of dips provided without being requested
Advice: Only eat here if you are desperate, but don't get delivery because it will stretch out your hunger and the food will be delivered as though from a sauna and not...
Read moreI have been to Peri Peri Original so many times it's not even funny...
I started coming here in 2018, the food then was Excellent, the pitta meals & the chips especially.
The service was decent at that time but you would still have to call them 15 mins prior if you didn't want to wait too long. Forgotten items were an occasional issue but they usually replace them.
I still go here occasionally however It seems like the quality of service and food has slowly degraded since COVID and it is now at a point that I cannot recommend it...
The chips are still very good and the food is ok but the chilli sauce that is provided for the chips is now just liquid and runny, the pitta bread used is not as good. The prices have also increased (which I understand).
The service is probably what has degraded the most, it seems like there is now only one or two members of staff at any time (Including the cook), on one occasion the shutters were only half open and I had to crouch to get through and despite me and others being there for 20 mins after the shutters remained half shut.
I do now worry about the cleanliness of the place, the tables and chairs are fine but the counter, overhead menu & bin are dirty and look like they aren't cleaned properly. There have been papers scattered over the counter & a laptop. The COVID screens instead of being completely removed have just had a section of it broken off.
This was one of my favourite places to go for food, it's a shame it is where it is... I will visit in a few months to see how it is then and amend the review but for now I think more...
Read moreIf you’re around West Drayton and craving flavour packed food at a fair price, Peri Peri Original at 77 High Street, UB7 7QH is the place to be. I’ve tried many chicken spots, but this one truly stands out for freshness, generous portions, and unbeatable value.
The menu offers a wide range of options from grilled peri-peri chicken, wraps, and burgers to platters perfect for sharing. Prices are very reasonable for London standards:
• Wrap meals from just £6.99 • Classic burgers around £5.99 – £7.49 • Platters like the Mega Platter (2 whole chickens, wings, fries, and drinks) only £31.99 • Chicken strips, spicy wings, peri fries, and sides all under £5
The food is cooked fresh right in front of you and the taste is consistent every time. I highly recommend the Mix Platter for groups or the Fillet Wrap Meal for a solo meal.
Inside, the place is clean and bright with plenty of seating booths. It’s family friendly, with comfortable dine-in space and a clear spice level chart on the floor (Lemon & Herb to Extra Hot) which is a fun touch. Outside, there’s convenient street parking right in front of the restaurant.
Whether you’re dining in or ordering via Just Eat or Uber Eats, the service is fast and polite. The shop is located on the main high street, easily accessible and surrounded by other useful shops.
I give 5 stars for food quality, cleanliness, and price. It’s hard to find a place that ticks all boxes, but this one does. Highly recommended to anyone in the area locals or visitors looking for tasty, halal friendly fast food that delivers on both...
