The Reggae Spice Caribbean restaurant in Burnt Oak, London, offers a vibrant taste of Jamaican and Caribbean cuisine that has garnered positive reviews from both locals and visitors. Located at 3 Silkstream Parade, Watling Avenue, this eatery is celebrated for its authentic dishes, such as oxtail with rice and peas, curry goat, and jerk chicken. The oxtail and curry goat are particularly praised for their rich flavors and tender meat, reminiscent of home-cooked Caribbean meals.
Many diners have noted the high quality of the food and the friendly service. One customer remarked that the curry goat and plantains were the best Caribbean food they've tasted in the UK, comparable to the meals they enjoyed in Jamaica. Another review highlighted the jerk lamb and brown stew chicken, emphasizing the generous portions and the delicious taste that makes them prefer this over fast food options.
However, not all feedback is uniformly positive. Some customers have pointed out inconsistencies, such as the brown stew chicken tasting more like roasted chicken with gravy, and occasional issues with the spice level or seasoning. Despite this, the overall sentiment remains favorable, with many planning to return or order again.
The restaurant also offers takeout and delivery options, making it convenient for those who prefer to enjoy their meals at home. Whether you're craving a comforting bowl of curry chicken or the exotic flavors of ackee and saltfish, Reggae Spice provides a satisfying Caribbean dining experience...
Read moreWe are visiting from Arizona and Canada. I read the reviews before deciding to try Reggae spice. The reviews were good on the taste of the food, so here we go.
Pros. As a jamaican I know good jamaican food. Yes, the food was very good. Rice and peas near perfect. Curry goat and greens...all awesome.
Cons.
As I walked in, the lady at the cash register just stared at me. She did not even say hello. She looked at me like I walked into her personal space and as if I was disturbing her. I finally said hello and she responded hello. There was zero enthusiasm to have a customer walk in. It's almost like she thought she was doing me a favor, as apposed to me been the actual customer. That was a huge turn off. If you are in the food service business, you must have a warm greeting for your customers. Smile, welcome them and thank them for their business. Please realize when someone walks into your restaurant it's money to your business. If a customer feels unwelcomed, they will not return nor recommend. It's disappointing to see such cold hearted welcome, but a coffee shop down the road will treat us like royalty for buying a small cup off coffee. I suggest take a class in customer service.
Your food is awesome, please back it up with professionalism and a smile. All the way from Arizona, I expected a nicer greeting...
Read moreREGGAE SPICE Started with a unaccepted order as I ordered a lunch time meal but I never clearly stated that you couldn't order that meal on a Saturday. I had to call only to reorder and receive the following:
I brought Oxtail & Rice today via Deliveroo only tp find it was NOT as advertised ~ You have pictured the OXTAIL and RICE in two different containers but when it is delivered the Rice and Meat are in one container not the featured two! THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING! AND NO BUTTER BEANS IN THE OXTAIL 👀🙄 WOW! Come we are Jamaican 🇯🇲 The festivals are always nice and the Oxtail meat flavours are good but you MUST add butter bean!!!!!
Jerk Wings size disappointing, packaging disappointing... the tiniest wing potion I've ever had the displeasure of receiving NOT what I expected at all. JERK WINGS should be double the size, big and juicy, succulent and have full favour and be accompanied by sauce and in a container NOT in a paper bag (AND did I mention that they should be served with jerk sauce)!
Reggae Spice you can do better for sure.
Time to take action on the feedback you...
