Heybourne Park is getting its bounty back. On every dry day, you will find happy faces and laughter filling the air. Since the wind is very strong still, frizbee's and badminton aren't out yet. I have witnessed bikes, scooters and skate boards dotting the central, circular concrete area. The pond was drained at some points and the bush around it either cleared or trimmed. They haven't yet cleaned the part under the bridge(where sadly some people have thrown some waste) For the local residents, it provides plenty of fresh air. With the advent of spring, the variety of blitheful songs of the birds has increased. It isn't a place to travel for, but a point where you could enjoy when visiting...

Sadly they ruined this park when they decided to cut down a lot of the trees and build flats around it. It was a haven for wildlife with many ducks, swans and geese which all flew away /were moved during the building works and only a handful of coots and mallards returned. There used to be lots of baby ducks born on the pond and the trees gave them a safe haven. I used to spend a lot of time over there and now I walk the dog around in winter but don't stop like I did.
