Sun & Woolpack — Restaurant in London

Really on the fence whether to give 3 or 4 stars here. The ambiance of Sun & Woolpack is very nice. There is a pool table out back and a screen inside where you can pick the music! I like the choice of sitting inside, streetside, or the more private backyard area. The food was great (we had 2 burgers with fries).

However, the wait for the food was extreme, nearly an hour waiting. The place was not busy at all, so no idea why we had to wait so long. My other complaint is that the backyard outdoor seating was very dirty, the seats and tables were covered in leaves, dirt, cigarette ash etc.

We went on a Sunday so maybe this was just a bad day. I would like to go back on a weekday or maybe a Saturday and see if the speed of service and cleanliness...

I went for a nice peaceful drink in this pub earlier this year, but was treated very rudely by a female staff member named Claire, who it seems is a Licencee. I put a complaint into the Management but never received a response, which I find most unprofessional. I also followed the complaint up recently after being refused service by the Licencee in question, but, I did not receive any response YET AGAIN. I would not recommend this pub to anyone due to the very unpleasant experience I had and the total lack of response to my complaint as a paying customer.

I brought my colleagues who where all from an ethnic minority groups to the pub To watch an arsenal match...never have I been so racially abused and it is sick to think this still happens in 2019, people where watching us like we don’t belong there, this was constant, sniggering at us and we felt patronised as someone called us the names of black players and were verbally abused for not buying alcoholic drinks - as none of us drink alcohol - by a man who claimed it was his pub.
