The Bird lounge — Restaurant in London

Feels like a bizarre mix of pub, restaurant and lounge - not necessarily a bad mix but definitely a bit different from usual.

The beer selection is limited - food is largely middle eastern mezze. Quality of food was neither good or bad but ok.

Quite empty even though we went on a Friday evening. I guess it is in a very residential area after all.

Quite a large covered outside area - which would be a godsend to smokers in the coming winter.

Service was really nice though - staff are friendly

**edit: owner's passive aggressive response to this review has made this last point moot - would not go back to a place with such management: -1 from a 2 to 1.

Don't usually list things I disliked in an establishment unless I think the place is horrendous and should be avoided by everyone as my intentions are not to damage their business but to provide information for people - everyone can have a different preference - as for me i 'disliked it' as the two stars denote. Didn't 'hate it' (1 star)...

I am a local and I love this place, it’s a gem in the area and I want to see it succeed! Beautiful cozy pub serving Turkish food and shisha. I love the chilli and garlic sauce and bread that comes with the food. Great drinks and the staff are really friendly.

I tried to watch Arsenal play Nottingham Forest the other day and unfortunately I was informed they no longer show football which was a shame, meaning we had to go to The Occasional Half down the road.

If I could offer The Bird Lounge any feedback it would be to keep the jazz on, it makes it relaxing to be in there eating and drinking and makes it easier to talk - ditch the commercial house music and pop with lyrics, not the right place for it. Also, turn off the TVs when there isn’t any sport or events on, it just detracts from the atmosphere - I’d rather spend time with my friends than look at rolling YouTube footage.

With these minor changes I’ll keep returning as a regular local, bringing my family and...

01/07/21 - Unfortunately my most recent visit was a massive downgrade from 5 months ago. it still sparkles and shines, but standard of food was extremely disappointing. Appears to be under the same management as 5 months ago. Will no doubt be back, hopefully I can reinstate the 5 stars and it was just a one off.The staff were very pleasant and attentive. But it's got to be all about the food at those prices. Have just noticed they do deliveries with Just Eat. Another great place to eat, bites the dust.

Absolutely the best takeaway food ever. Fresh salad, that pleases the eye as well as the taste buds. Rice, fresh, tasty and no pool of grease at the bottom 9f the container. Their Adana kebab is the best i have ever had and portions are huge. Cannot wait for them to open again. A true Oasis in...
