I really wanted to like this place but my first experience was not great unfortunately.
We (my husband, my 2-year old daughter and I) arrived there for around 11 o'clock and planned to have breakfast there. We waited a bit for the menu, despite the fact that the very friendly lady inside told me to take a seat outside and she would be with us soon. We chose the breakfast sets and then noticed a note on the menu that you order at the bar- fair enough, so I headed inside. Placed the order but there was an issue with the system, which I did not mind at all but wondered if the order went through or if they waited for me to pay first. The waiter, who took the order came out soon and I paid.
All would have been great if the breakfasts did not take 1 hour to arrive. I chased up after 40 minutes and was told ours was next. By that time our toddler was super hungry and if you know anything about toddlers, you know that they don't cope well with their stomachs being empty!
When the food arrived I asked for a little plate and cutlery for my daughter and it took a few attempts to actually get it. The nice lady did apologise for mishearing me due to me wearing a mask, so it's ok but she was the 3rd waiter I asked for it by then.
My husband was asked if we wanted any drinks on the house but by then we did not want to wait for them and wanted to leave asap.
The food was good, so I do give them 3 stars but there were issues: If it's busy, please let your customers know that the food would take this long- 1 hour wait for breakfast is not a standard waiting time. If for some reason you did not predict this delay, do send a waiter to the table after 30 minutes and apologise. If you feel like compensating for the wait with free drinks, do not wait until the very last minute with it. I believe it would have been a different experience if the communication had been better. Very nice waiters but very forgetful and chaotic. If you see a toddler in a high chair, do bring toddler cutlery. Nobody was wearing masks inside. It's still a requirement and I did not feel comfortable with it. I do not understand your bread options :) I asked if there was a brown bread (not toast) and I understood that there was one. Ordered bread and got toast- but was probably a misunderstanding. My bad for not asking the waiter when the food arrived but after such a long wait and chasing baby cutlery, I really did not want to wait even longer for a possible correction.
So the place is very nice- both outside and inside, the food is good and the members of staff are nice but there are some issues that I believe could be easily rectified.
I think we will give it another go but will make sure that we had something to eat beforehand and will bring snacks for...
Read moreI'm surprised there aren't any reviews here..?, Well let me share my story. So not a very big pub dine-in person but was passing by to catch up with a friend who's moved into the local area, and he suggested this cafe but doesn't look like your average cafe.
First thing ,from a visual exterior and interior perspective, the outdoor area seems nice and spacious. The interior definitely looks wayyyy nicer than the outside. You can tell time and effort has been put into the place. and love the vibe and colours in the room. A very different feeling when you enter into the space.
I do remember a lovely lady by the door, had a great smile.
We were seated by a male staff, who shared their special two dishes of the day with us. I don't know whether it's just him or his accent but the way he pronounced the sausage and mash and Argentinian steak sandwich just made it sounded twice as nice.
I had an Advocado on toast with poached eggs, with chips and friend had an Argentinean steak sandwich. I can only speak about the advocado toast but the Steak sandwich looked soo gooood. Overalll it was all just YUM! The poached egg , was just right , and the chips were on point! not too oily and had a nice crunch. Prices were very reasonable, compared to Central London prices.
Leaving the venue, we caught a friendly chap named Ben, who almost fell off a ladder, was very kind and genuine guy. he took to take the time out to speak to us and introduce himself, and wanted feedback from us to learn what he can do better, which I think is priceless. big two thumbs up there .
Overall I recommend popping by.
Much love and blessings. From a...
Read moreThis restaurant is truly a hidden gem! The meal portions are generous, the food is fresh, and it is all incredibly affordable. For only £22, we enjoyed a delicious adult meal, I got ‘The Med’ breakfast and a child’s meal, along with drinks including juice, Coke, and a cup of tea. The ingredients tasted fresh and it was all very well presented.
The Med came with grilled halloumi, eggs, fresh salad vegetables, spicy beef sausage, toast, and a side of olives and honey. It was a healthy yet hearty choice. The child’s meal of crispy chicken goujons, with fries and baked beans was also well-cooked. The fries were a little greasy, but they are fries, so it is to be expected!
It was very busy when we went, which was a Saturday morning/afternoon, so quite noisy, but they have outside dining, and a small booth area if you want a quieter experience.
The service was outstanding, friendly, and attentive, making this experience even better. Given the quality and the pricing, this place offers unbeatable value for families or anyone looking for fresh food on a budget. Highly...
