Clare made our dream wedding cake come to life!

She totally understood our vision and created the most gorgeous, - and more importantly - DELICIOUS vegan wedding cake. It was quite hard to find someone who could make a tasty vegan wedding cake, but we were spoilt for choice with Little Bear Cakery. The tasting was amazing - not only was it lovely to try each option and work out which tier would have which flavour, but Clare took the time to understand our wedding vision and how our cake would compliment the entire day. We went through topper and stand options etc - really helpful detail. We ended up investing in a marble cake stand to keep, rather than hiring and Clare was really helpful in giving the approval on sizing/quality for the cake size/weight.

I'd like to add that Clare was amazing throughout the pandemic, dealing with all of our postponements so supportively and sensitively - she was so patient with our dates moving and order changing etc. She was easy to contact and always professional - even when going on maternity leave she gave us plenty of notice and put in the care to let us know all was planned to go ahead (gold dust when you're busy planning 100 things for the wedding). It was a relief to know the cake arrangements were in safe hands, and on the day Clare dressed our the cake with our wedding flowers and we were over the moon with it! My husband and I ordered our wedding cake from the Little Bear Cakery and we could not have been more impressed. From initial contact, Clare was polite, friendly and responsive. We ordered a sample box to try some of the imaginative flavours before finalising our cake order and we fell in love with the zingy chocolate Jaffa flavour - with a hint of cardamom which was a really pleasant surprise. Clare then worked with us to produce a unique design to our liking, and on the day, when the cake was unboxed, we were blown away by how beautiful it looked – like a piece of artwork! Particularly the rose decoration which we couldn’t believe was made of sugar, it was so realistic! The cake also went down very well with our guests and as two people who do not have too much of a sweet tooth, we absolutely loved every mouthful! The cake truly exceeded our expectations. Clare really listened to us in terms of our preferences in taste and design and it was clear that a lot of hard work and effort was put into making the cake. It didn't take long for us to find a wedding cake maker. The moment we found Clare's work we knew she was the one! Her business name was also a sign since my partner and I affectionately call each other "bear". It was meant to be. There is so much to say about Clare, her absolute professionalism, timeliness, attention to detail and passion for her craft. Her sugar flower creations are pure beauty. They take your breath away.

Our wedding cake was three (huge!) tiers of her Luscious Lemon cake, "zesty lemon sponge soaked with limoncello (one tier alcohol free), lemon curd and light vanilla buttercream". Topped with the most beautiful handcrafted sugar peonies, blackberries, Italian ruscus foliage and hydrangea flowers. Our guests were even betting on whether the flowers were real or not. The cake was an absolute delight, with the tastiest, softest, delicately flavoured sponge ever, a masterpiece.
