10 months ago - A first visit to the Homestead for lunch and a walk today with my daughter. Be warned though it's pay by card only!! Even for just an ice cream. It's in a lovely courtyard surrounded by the old stables. We had 1 pizza with a selection of different mushrooms, truffle oil, bechamel, and Chives. She said it was the best pizza she's ever had!!! I has the halloumi brioche (roll?) with an egg, tomato, and a bit of spinach. Didn't fancy the Siracha mayo though. Absolutely delicious. Recommended. Nice breakfast tea and orange juice, but a holder for the tea cup needed! The only downside was the rather expensive ice cream. £3 a scoop and 40p for a flake : ( . Staff are efficient and friendly. There's a gift shop and doggy shop too. And loos. A big thank you to the pizza guys out the back and all the staff. You make amazing halloumi brioche! Update - another visit with my daughter. I had my usual halloumi brioche as its ssssooo yummy; just wish it included rocket instead of spinach. My daughter had the scamorza pizza with pesto an unusual sort of pizza but the cheese was amazing! Prices have gone up but its a treat sometimes. But what I love about the Homestead is the staff. They always seem to whizz around working and making things run smoothly. Special mention for the lovely gentleman working on Saturday afternoon in the courtyard- as soon as I got up to clear my plate in the bin, he took it for me. And again to clear my daughters plate!" Thank...
Read moreUnfortunatley i have to reduce my rate, pizza are great but absurd they not sell coca cola and only a bad imitation, why? I'm use to buy original, don't want to buy a xolex instead of a Rolex. Why to impose "alternative" imitation products? And also cost £3 that's just ridiculous, and when order they not inform in advance to have only a bad imitation. Ps: just discover is called "palestine cola". What's? Ridiculous and is not for charity, so they charge £3 for a political oriented imitation of coke. How much hypocrisy? Please serve me an Israel Cappuccino!
Just 2 stars because they not use ceramic cups, they use cardboard cups that create more rubbish and pollution.
Thanks for your answer, i don't mind of a reuse scheme, as italian i pretend to have a cappuccino (with your awesome coffee) in a ceramic cup, where is the problem to have a set of ceramic cup? Sincerely i want to relax with a cappuccino, not me, the mayor of london or any other one will save the planet not using ceramic cup. Please give the freedom to choose to customers, why we have to be victims of...
Read moreI had a most profound outdoor dining experience here just the other day.
Beckenham Palace Park is a stunning, large park in South London, well worth the visit by itself - the excellent pizza and wonderful bar here are just a bonus. The pizza was delicious, crispy and with high-quality toppings (roughly £12.50 each), the kind that would easily generate a ridiculous queue if made in Central London, while the bar had high quality beer like The Kernel for about £6/50cl.
There were good vegetarian toppings on the pizzas, and vegan pizza was also available.
It's counter service, but the staff is friendly and helpful despite the queues, and the setting could hardly be better - both at one of the tables overlooking the park and gardens, or in the courtyard. This is an absolute must-visit on a nice summer/late summer day.
There doesn't seem to be any indoor dining, though, so bear that in mind if visiting...
