An Authentic English Pub! This is a real English pub! With more than 300 years of history it has many stories to tell. Highway men drank at this pub. WWI wounded Aussies at the local hospital drank at this pub. Royalty visited this pub. It has real history! Low ceilings. Cosy sitting areas. Well stocked bar. Sunday lunch was excellent! Real pub food! Roast lamb and veg was as good as it gets. But what makes this pub stand out is the people. Wonderful serving staff. Bar manager was attentive, calm, talking effortlessly to every guest. Every one there was a local. Elderly people in their 80’s having a traditional Sunday roast. Listening to the locals was a pleasure. Endless stories. Lots of laughter. These are the real English people you won’t get in a fancy London pub. This is a pub where you are welcome. We collected food from the local kebab restaurant and asked if we could eat the food inside while we are paying for drinks, the woman behind the bar kindly said we could. The chef came out of the kitchen to our table, swore at us and wanted confrontation. We explained to him we asked before entering; he called us liars and to take him to the bar staff that allowed us, after declining to take him to the staff as communication between staff is not our issue he forced us all to apologise one by one before eating on...

Large, very welcoming pub in Harefield and very close to Harefield Hospital. Great menu - we had a lunch of sandwiches and chips on the side. The bread was very fresh and there was excellent coleslaw on the side. Cheese had good flavour and ham was thick sliced and good quality. The chips were light, chunky and crisp - best we've had for a while. There is a large sunny beer garden plus a large outdoor covered area if you want to be outside but in the shade.
