Came back after not visiting for about a year. My friend and I ordered separately on the app at 6:55. Our drinks arrived quickly and we waited for food. By 7:40, it still hadn’t arrived so I went to find out what the waiting time was. There was plenty of space and by no means was it ‘busy’. I was met with a bit of an affronted waiter who said he would check and then came back with ‘no we didn’t get the ticket’. I said that the drinks had arrived from both of our seperate orders, so the ticket had clearly gone through. He then wanted to see the receipt on my phone (understandable). He walked away and then at 8:05 the cheesy chips arrived. They were cold & had what looked like a teaspoon of some hardened cheese. My friends meal was also cold and hard. Sent these back and waited a further 5 or 10 minutes. No refund or free drink (both of us were only on the soft drinks!) offered and very minimal apology. The food then came back and was not replaced at all- it had clearly been put in a microwave because it was now just soggy (but at least hot)… The chicken my friend ordered was blackened having presumably been plopped back into a fryer. The waiter did look rather hot and bothered so it’s not to say he was being rude, rather just a bit dismissive as he seemed preoccupied. I know it’s a spoons and not exactly top quality dining, but to wait an hour and ten minutes for a bog standard meal, only for it to turn up cold and then a reheated slop, isn’t...
Read moreTHIS PUB IS NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL. My friends and I went to this pub and as we went through and sat down, the staff were not friendly and made the atmosphere for us very uncomfortable. Those of us who ordered alcoholic drinks showed the staff our IDs (we are all in year 13) and yet questioned us that those who didn't have ID cannot drink, which of course we understood. As the food and drink came out, they were constantly watching us and looking over to see who was drinking what and repeatedly coming up to us so we couldn't enjoy our time together as mates. My friend (who is 17 and didn't drink anything at all) passed my alcoholic drink over the table to me as the waiter brought it to the table. As she was doing so, another waitress came by and shouted very rudely to the manager - "The underage girl is drinking by the way". Not only were all of my friends and I shocked by how they were treating us, but next thing that happens is that the manager came out said that they weren't going to serve us any longer, that we must leave and to never come back. Baring in mind, we obeyed all the covid rules and were respectful towards all staff even due to their lack of respect towards us as paying customers, we were treated horribly for no reason given. So again, this pub is not friendly at all and would NOT RECOMMEND that anyone come to this Railway...
Read moreIf I was able to give this pub no stars I would do it but unfortunately Google prohibits this from happening. I was appalled by the nasty greeting from the waitresses at this pub. It was clear that me and my diverse group of friends were unwelcome at this establishment as they were consistently bothering us for the 45 minutes in which we stayed there for. We were consistently bothered by the staff and were yelled at and treated appallingly as they refused us to be served after even providing valid ID. The staff took to unkind remarks and were policing us as we were trying to enjoy and celebrate a special occasion. My less diverse group of friends went to this establishment an hour later than us and received none of this treatment in which we had experienced. As this was my first time experience attending a pub I feel rather disheartened to go to another one. This experience has made me feel rather uncomfortable and this establishment needs to be looked at closely. It's terrible to think that the staff could show us such disrespect after we followed the guidelines and the rules in which they set out. Even after spending time to communicate with them respectfully in a calm and considerate manner we were still treated awfully. I will never be attending this pub again and I would not at all recommend such a place to...
