**Review No.1*** Not the review I really wanted to write, but I feel honesty is always better so someone else maybe doesn't have the same experience. We were seated at 12pm, the server didn't even take our order until 12.25pm and the food was served to us until 12.45pm. So from being seated to getting our food took 45 mins. There wasn't a single other table in the restaurant with people sat at it, so they weren't busy. This is so bad because the table was booked (via telephone) a week in advance for 12pm. The restaurant opens at 12pm so as far as I'm concerned the kitchen should be prepped, prepared and ready to cook. If they aren't, then don't take table reservations until 12.30pm. After 45 minutes, I asked the server where the food was, and rather than apologise, he tried to correct me as if I was wrong. My Mum and Dad had the mixed grill platter which looked and tasted amazing!!!!!! Unfortunately my rare steak looked ill, you can tell it hadn't been seared/cooked in high temperatures, the fat was inedible. See picture. I will really be reluctant to eat there again. Poor day! ***Review No.2*** AFTER A YEAR, I returned to Tap Haus with my partner and unfortunately not much has changed. Positive is the prawns and mushrooms were really nice....but they're also really nice when I cook them at home. Called in at 4pm on bonfire weekend, only 3 tables occupied and there was still a wait. The quality of this place when it started vs now is shocking. Even the seats are dying a painful death.

This was my 1st visit here in a party of 11 (9 adults & 2 kids ) for a family lunch .The meals had already been chosen as requested at the time of the booking, which was around 4 weeks earlier, maybe due to it being on Mother's Day ? It's located next to a golf course & does have plenty of parking spaces in front of the building. There are a good number of tables outside which are undercover. Once inside ,the bar & restaurant areas are very spacious with a rustic style decor. The staff on duty were very pleasant at the bar & during table service. All the meals & including those who had room left for deserts ,looked to be very nice indeed & everyone enjoyed their food, i had the roast beef burrito which I would recommend. Probably, only disappointment being the meals actually came out the kitchen in dribs n drabs, so timings weren't the best to say the place wasn't that busy .Still , I enjoyed the visit & would recommend it it to family & friends. Cash or card payments are accepted.

It was fine. Room was big, had some well thought out items like USB chargers on both sides of the bed and the evening meal was very generous. However... Many aspects of the room, particularly the bathroom, give the impression that they were done in a rush by some bloke down the pub who was cheap. The pandemic breakfast was a bit strange, they provided jam but nothing to put the jam on line a slice of bread. A handful of boxes of cereal and some fruit. All the rooms had the same access code so, had I wanted to, I could have wandered in to any room I liked. In your room there was no deadlock or chain do even if you were aware of the issue you couldn't do anything about it. Mixed bag, and you'd expect much better for the price. I'd say it was a £50 room selling for £80+

We have been meaning to come here since the summertime last year, we went for a drink then, We also took advantage of the food as a take away while in lock down and ordered Sunday lunches, Which were delicious, As its a little out of our. way to travel there, We haven’t been again. So last night we made the effort. I will be honest, I wish we didn’t!! When we arrived the place was empty my partner asked to be seated in a booth, was told they were reserved they tried to put us on a tiny table facing a pillar which my partner declined, My partner insisted we want somewhere abit cosier so they put us in a cold part of the dining room with nobody there, I was cold all night where I was but didn't want to make an issue, While being seated three men came in for a meal and the waitress put them straight in the booth my partner wanted us to seat at, these weren’t reserved at all!! the waitress then approached us asked about drinks and was completely clueless in what was on offer or the tastes of them, my partner had two different drinks which were recommended and both weren’t to her taste at all! We weren’t offered a sample or a menu for her to choose from, so it made us rely on the waitress with zero experience to decide what to drink, worryingly! The waiting time between meals was a long wait considering they were not busy. The starters were pleasant my partner opted for the croquettes and I had the Brie and mango parcels, both very tasty but only have three each on the plate, and with a tiny hint of blackcurrant jam on mine and they had a tiny amount of a sauce with the croquettes which made them dry almost so alittle tight if I am honest at the price of them. We waited another hour for the mains, while waiting my partner needed the toilet, She went and was told they were out of order and was not offered an alternative. This can be slightly annoying if you need the call of mother nature and half a tummy full of beer, She patiently waited but I couldn’t.I became desperate and was told to you use the mens toilet while “she stood guard” I actually thought this was a joke! But it wasn’t I will be honest I don’t think I have been so humiliated in all my 50yrs to having to use the mens dirty smelly toilets, I couldn’t even wash my hands as the smell and dirt within the toilets, I came out and of course she wasn’t there standing guard! So again another awkward embarrassing situation if a guy was at the urinals. The food eventually came out I ordered the German bratwurst my partner the currywurst variety, they came out wrong! So mine went back, the young man who brought the food was clueless as so what its meant to even look like, my partner was missing half the extras that she ordered, the boy took my food and left me with cold chips and coleslaw why? When my whole meal was removed? My partner was left to eat on her own while I sat there with nothing for over twenty minutes! I had enough and called someone over who I thought had some authority, Again clueless. I explained I had no food my partner still waiting and explained the toilet scenario, as we were doing this he bolted off and couldn’t handle what we were saying to him, when he came back after afew minutes of him having a meltdown, I explained you can’t just walk off while being complain to you, thats not how customer service works!? I asked his name and he said it was Matt, he found no issue with a female using the mens toilets, he was being quite patronising and had an attitude by this time (I felt I went back thirty years, when life wasn’t that easy for a gay woman) his whole attitude was just appalling in customer service, I demanded a refund on my food and my partners extras as it was beyond a joke and with no apology from anybody on the way out as to how we were treated. I am shocked and very disappointed to say the least! Its a shame as the Tap Haus has now lost a lot of business from us and from hopefully people...

We had pre-booked a table for five this evening. When we arrive, we noticed a sign which mentioned an hour wait for food, so we expected a delay.

We were seated promptly and we quickly received our first order of drinks. So far, so good.

We waited around 15 minutes at which point our food order was taken. The servers were pleasant and friendly. People were sat outside but inside the dining area there was only one other table of four aside from ourselves.

30 minutes passed. 45... one hour... an hour and 15...

At this point we were concerned about where our food was. Another table of two which came in a little after us had already started to get something to eat and we had not. No one had even come to check on our table to see if we needed any more drinks.

We approached the staff and asked for something else to drink. They said at this point they would also check on our food.

The server came back and explained that a technical issue had occurred and our food was not actually sent to the kitchen, we had been waiting for nothing this whole time and we had also never been checked on at all, not even for more drinks (we had to approach them) which was a bit of pain but we thought let's get on with it and wait for something to eat.

Our food started to come out around 15/20 minutes later... well four of the five meals did. The youngest of our group was waiting for a pizza. We gave it 5 or so minutes as when the four plates were delivered no one asked 'is this everything, do you need any sauces, etc.' the usual that is done when all the food has been brought to a table, but everyone had just disappeared, leaving one meal behind.

Again we went up to the bar and asked about the pizza. Someone came to the table and explained the pizza was made, but they gave it to another table instead of ours. This means our food was starting to go cold while we were waiting for another meal. We had to start eating; giving food to the other member of our party who didn't have anything.

When the pizza did come, it was not what was ordered. We asked for pepperoni but they had sold out (we only knew this as they mentioned it to the other table behind us, not to us directly). No one cared to ask if this was okay that we were given something different, it was just assumed.

The food was okay, nothing to write home about and certainly not worth over two hours of waiting.

The team did apologise and provided a very heavy discount on the bill which we were grateful for. However, we asked for the bill to settle for the remaining amount of our tab. This also didn't turn up and we had to go to the bar and wait.

To top it off, a member of our party had a dress which was caught in the broken chair that was provided at the table, causing it to rip.

All in all a bit of a shoddy evening to be fair. We appreciate the money off, absolutely as an apology; but it seems a little too late. I would have rather got our food, had a good meal and paid...

3 of us went to Tap Haus for lunch but my experience was not good. We sat outside because we had a dog with us and it was quite a nice day. I was driving and was facing a long drive that night so I asked what non-alco beers they had and was told the name of two one of which was a lager and the other a cider so I asked if they had zero Guiness and he said no but they had what he desccribed as dark lager. It tasted fine but I soon realised it was full beer strength alcohol. I kept it but was determined that the next drink would be one of the zero alcohols.

The waiter should have been sufficiently trained to know the difference between zero alcohol and alcoholic beer. The consequences for one of my sons who is a recovering alcoholic could have been very serious indeed.

Then while looking at the menu I asked if they had English Mustard and he said yes. We ordered our starters and encountered a strange ordering system in that you have to pay at your table at the time of ordering each item, beer, lager, orange, pate, potatoe skins, steak etc. So a 4.00 transaction for a beer.

So when placing the order for my steak and chips I asked again for the English Mustard.

Then came the steak. So I asked again for the English Mustard and then came along a woman who seemed to be the person in charge and she informed me that Tap Haus is as German Restaurant so we only have German mustard. (Strange they have English Vinegar, continental lagers and non-German wines.)

If I had been given a truthful answer to my original request for English Mustard I would have ordered Fish and Chips but given your incompetent staff I was coerced into paying for something I didn't really want to eat without for me the correct condiment.

She offered the German Mustard saying it is very nice but for me it is not nice.

So I asked for the menu but she said I would have to pay for a second meal whereas a reasonable restaurant would have immediately offered to put right the consequences of their incompetence.

I tried to eat the steak which was of poor quality and the dog ate most of it but then to our annoyance back came the senior waitress and asked if everything is alright which of course it wasn't. She proceeded not to listen but to interrupt and talk over me. Then a second but much younger waitress came and asked if everything was alright which it wasn't but then a third came so by this time I was not happy and just told her that I would not repeat my complaint again.

We had each paid for 3 items but at no time were we offered a receipt.

I would not go there again and I cannot recommend the place to anyone else. The staff need training in how to be polite to customers, know their products...
