The Coopers at Mansfield Woodhouse — Restaurant in Mansfield

After a wobbly meal previously, landlord Jonathan Gerlach sprang into action with a quick and easy solution, which was this meal. My husband and I were greeted with a smile and our order was taken promptly and professionally by Jonathan. The bar area was clean and the restaurant area was clean and tidy. When we were sat waiting, there was a man from ADT doing checks, he never once got in the way and was very quiet. My husband ordered a Cowboy Burger with fries and I ordered an 8oz Rump Steak with upgraded sweet potato fries and peppercorn sauce. When the food arrived at the table it was piping hot and super fresh. My husbands burger was cooked to perfection, the only flaw was that the bacon was too crispy and snapped almost like fibreglass. My steak was perfectly cooked, I ordered medium rare and received medium rare. It was only slightly over seasoned with pepper, however I was able to look past that. There was plenty of food on the plates and we certainly left feeling full. Jonathan checked that everything was okay with our meal, and left with a smile on his face when we told him everything was lovely. We will most definitely be visiting again for another meal as this one...

Edit, 2024 - been back after literally 6 years as I've been put off this place and let me tell you, it's not worth it, quiaoea salad missing (though we paid extra) another lady had items missing off their meal also, their "lite bites" here are actually smaller then their kids meals, I can see their trying but you say so many years have gone by you'd hope for better, I won't be back here again.

2019 - I am literally sat here waiting for food, not only did they not have 4 mains and 2 starters but when we paid extra and ordered the lamb, that wasn't in stock either... the starter is missing dressing and napkins, The cutlery is filthy, mis matched glasses for drinks, I am sat here waiting 45 mins for this disgusting meal... Bear in mind there's only two tables of people in the whole place. the mash potato is solid, the pigs in blankets burnt, roast potatoes look like crisps and only 1 side of veg between three of us yet we all ordered and paid separately, the cauliflower cheese has a skin like a wet suit .... just got a full refund as this was...

I had to make the approach even though there were 4 members of staff just stood at the bar chatting(could have a check-in area) to be told Oww just sit anywhere(what’s the point of a booking system) when I went to order my food I was told sorry we have no sirloin steak we only sell a few on a Friday so don’t take that many out the freezer! (Why not have a preorder system when your placing the booking) when the food arrived it was very on un appetising looking, the steak(rump) was medium to well done(still pink in the middle)even though I’d asked for well done. The onion ring were soggy not crispy as advertised and the peas must have been warmed up in a microwave as some were soft but others like bullets. Over all the only good part was the chips(though I think they were frozen ones). No one came to ask how my meal was, service was poor I had to ask for steak knife napkins and condiments as there were none on the station area. Overall not good in-fact...
