Starting with the positives, Aroma has some truly amazing service with very kind and engaging servers. The onion bhaji was great and the decor inside is far from your dingy dark indian restaurant.
HOWEVER
When I go to an indian restaurant, I tend to look for the chef's specialities, of which, to their credit, Aroma has plenty. But I have been once before and ordered the Jordie Special, which was basically just a curry made from lime pickle, however, in this instance the lime was far too overpowering. Now I am assured by my brother who frequently visits that this was a one off so I'll give the benefit of the doubt on this as I can see how it could be enjoyable. However, something I do not advise anyone order is the main ordered from my most recent visit. I opted for a Chicken Xancuti, described as a full flavoured spicy curry. In actuality, this dish was pieces of chicken on a huge bed of seasoned diced onion with no sauce what so ever and a few sliced chillies chucked on top. Nevertheless, the taste of the dish was fine, but truly average and nothing special by any means. The dish was much blander and much milder than expected given the list of spices listed in the description. Where this dish and visit becomes massively problematic however is that I have now become quite ill after eating the dish (I'm sure you can imagine in what sense I mean this without having to be crude). As a frame of reference, I have never had a problem stomaching indian food like this before, so this was a nasty shock. The other party members' food looked nice and was enjoyed by the other members and came as described too. However, as a result of my experience I will most likely be avoiding this restaurant...

We waited over an hour for our food, after the waiter had told us it was coming in â10-20 minsâ multiple times, It finally arrives, all at different times. Some of our party was sitting with curry and no rice and then visa versa. The table also had bottles of water when we arrived, we was not told that these were not complimentary and after opening 2/3 bottles we was charged ÂŁ3.95 each. The chicken tikka masala was disappointing and had silly amounts of red food colouring and strong tastes of chinese 5 spice. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience and probably...
Read moreThe aroma restaurant was very disappointing. Had meal that was very bland no had to add salt the lamb was tough. When I complained to a waiter he took no notice. Had to call the maneger who wanted to change it but I told him not because my friend had already finished eating . But he brought another one out any way how ever if declined to eat it. And asked for the bill when the bill came they had put my meal on it despite me being dissatisfied. This was so unprofessional and arrogant. All they were interested in was money and not the customers interest. Will never go back...
